Title: The continuous tapered arrow
Post by: cjgregory on January 29, 2011, 09:09:00 AM
I enjoy targets and 3D  almost  as much as hunting.
I prefer an arrow around 600 gr. so the Arrow Dynamics shaft is out.
I have been looking at the grizzlyStik for a while now.  Plus it's a continuous taper most of the way through the shaft.
It's not a new technology of course but I only want to shoot one shaft.  I don't mind the price as this and writing are my passions and it's better than wasting my money on a new vehicle or drinking beer.
Who has had some really good experience with tapered shafts around 600 gr. and heavier on the 3D range or even indoor?  I want to hear about your experiences.

Presently I shoot accurately to 40-45 yards with 2219s fletched or no fletching.

My AD Trad's with a 175 gr. point weigh right at 565 grs.,I bet a AD Trad Hammerhead would put you at the 600 gr. range depending on the point weight.you may also want to look at Carbon Tech, they have some tapered carbon arrows.

I think the AD heavyweights are 500 grain for a bareshaft, I've shot them but don't have any exprience with them on the 3D range.  Just getting into shooting Carbon Tech tapered Panther shafts.  I like those much better than the AD shafts because they fly flatter and still hit hard. dino
