I can't say I've shot the bow you're thinking about but I had one of his Mutt bows and it was great.

You won't find an individual with higher integrity.

If you do a search you will find a ton of folks singing the same tune.

I personally don't think you can go wrong with a Maddog bow.

God bless,Mudd

Agree with Jeff B.  I've got a Mutt and my youngest has a Pup longbow.  Both well made.  Mike is easy to deal with.

I have shot recurve only since late 80's. Had several customs from Rocky Mtn Recurves. Summer of 09 I decided I wanted to try a longbow. I called several bowmakers, looking for the right bow. All wanted over $500 for what I was looking for. Now, I'm not against spending that , as the last Rocky I got cost me $750 in 1991, but I wasn't sure I would like a longbow and didn't want to invest that much. Then I heard about Maddog bows. I called Mike and spoke to him about what I had in mind. He said he could do it and the cost was half of what other bow makers wanted. I figured I had nothing to lose so I told Mike to get started. Now, in the meantime, I'm wondering"how good can this be for what I'm being charged"? After about 8 weeks I get the call that it's done. When I received the bow, it was nice. Heck it was beyond nice. It was awsome. I strung it up and took it out to shoot. First shot was a surprise. Right were I was looking and dead quiet. The bow didn't even have any silencers!.Hunted w/ it and took a very nice turkey. Also took a P&Y mule deer. Then a 350lb pig.

To make a long story short, I now have three, my daughters have 2 each and my wife has one. I also have 2 more on order. I am taking 2 w/ me to Africa in August this year.
Mike is a great guy who builds a great bow.

I think you'll do fine with a R/D bow.

They are all just sticks and strings and anyone can master them if we want. (Excluding a physical problem)

God bless,Mudd

You wont find a nicer gentleman to work with.  I have never shot nor even seen one of his bows but the next time I need one.  He has my business all the way.
