Well I put an add out looking for another Big Jim masterpiece and the call was answered by Zachary or "zmeister" on here. It turns out he had a nice 56" Thunder Child 48#@28" and to make things better he was driving through the area today. I looked at a map and found a gas station to meet Zack that wouldn't make him detour to far from his route. Well if you're gonna schedule a meeting with someone make sure you know the area first! "Zack, I'm so sorry about the location bud!" Even with all the distractions of the local patrons asking for things and giving us the stare down, I manage to meet Zacks lovely family and VERY quickly exchange the goods for my new TC. It's a beauty! Tiger Myrtle, gotta love it!

WOW,That is gorgeous!!
Great looking bow. I love the combination of woods.
It's a real beauty like all of Jim's bows and just like all of his bows it's a real shooter! I've been out shooting a lot today with it and got it pretty well tuned in. After the sun goes down a little I'll get out of my driveway into the culdesak(spell?) and see how the big broadheads fly at 25 to 30yds.
Beautiful bow. Is your bow tiger myrtle both riser and limbs?

I believe so, although I'm not real sure what the darker wood in the riser is though since I bought this bow used.
Jim sure makes some beautiful bows.
Very nice. Big Jim doesn't disappoint.
Wow!
The pics really don't do this bow justice! After having it outside shooting today and looking it over in the sunlight I had to wipe my drool off it with a towel. :p
Good for you Kenneth! Awesome bow. I love the Tiger Myrtle. You done good, Congrats!
That's one purty bow congrats!!!
Pretty sharp looking bow!!!!
Rusty
Very nice!!
Thanks guys!
Danny - I consider myself very lucky to have found this one. It's 5# lighter than Gray Ghost which is exactly what I wanted and it's Tiger Myrtle which I also wanted. It wouldn't have been any different than if I had ordered it. :bigsmyl:
Kenneth: Awesome, Awesome Bow I like very much. Same veneers I want to order on a Thunder Child. Tiger Myrtle is so beautiful, I have on a couple of other bows. Hope you enjoy very much, shoot well Don
Kenneth- I believe that riser wood is walnut. I am going off of memory. The pics don't show enough detail for me to make it out on screen.
common woods I use (or suggest) with Tiger myrtle: Ziricoti, Walnut, Macassar.
There are others that would look good too, but have never gotten an argument out of any of those three.
thanks, bigjim
Kenneth I think that bows got relatives in California....Sweeeeeet!!!
Nice lookin bow!
I have always liked dark colors on a stick bow..that one is a beaut!
I'm with Macatawa, I like darker colors also on bows. That is a sweet looking bow Kenneth. I thought you were holding off for a Annewakee. Don't blame you for pulling the trigger on this one and if it shoots as good as it looks you done good.
I would have liked to sit back and watch this little traditional bow deal go down in the hood, did you have any arrows with ya? Lol
Dang Sonny Jim! Beauty!
:notworthy: All I can say is, DANG NICE!!! :clapper:

Jim, after getting it out in the sunlight I think its walnut too. It's a little too light to be Macassar or Ziricote.
You done good big guy!! Of course I wouldn't expect anything else from you! :readit: :biglaugh:

Kip, I'd say it's got a couple a perdy cousins out there with some sheep horn on em'. :D
Chris, an Anneewakee or Hoot is on the list but I had to have another TC and I'll probably have to get another Buffalo bow before I focus in on it.
No arrows but I had some S&W insurance with me; just like american express, "I never leave home without it".
that's a fine lookin stick ya got there Kenneth! Big Jim has some talent.
Nice looking bow i really like the indian nickel well done
