Title: Shooting a bow 3 under tillered for split?
Post by: frassettor on January 27, 2011, 07:06:00 PM
Will this hurt the bow by causing the lower limb to work harder then it should if you shoot a bow 3 under if it is tillerd for split finger?

NO..... NO.......

Heck dude, all but one of my bows has been tillered split and I have been shooting 3 under for 40 + years....Guy told me way back when the mechanical difference is so small its not noticable..  He was an eng.

Them Widows ain't gonna no the difference.  They may just think ya found a new way to tickle em.

My first 3 under tillered bow will be here in two weeks according to Roger....  Can't wait.

Just cause "The Pack" won the play off game is no reason to go soft on us...

I to have been shooting 3 under for about a year plus now, only one of my bows is tillered for 3 under, about 6 others I have been shooting that are tillered for split, and can't tell the difference one to the other. My nock point really has not changed either from one to the other that I can notice. DK.

Never really considered three under for myself, but ya got me thinkin. Maybe the under side of my index finger wouldn't get to hurtin.

I really tried and tried to get along with the traditional split finger style and just never felt comfortable with it. Then I switched to 2 fingers under, not 3 and it felt so much better. My groups improved drastically and I never went back.

Back to Richard's question, I'm not an expert by any means, but I haven't noticed any difference from one to the other and it hasn't hurt my bow in performance or physically. I don't notice any difference in sound either, it's whisper quiet either way.........at least as far as my ears can tell?
