Title: Widow PSA or PCH?
Post by: Tree Rat on January 26, 2011, 07:50:00 AM
I've been shopping for PSA for the right price for some time now. Recently I discovered the PCH (ok so I don't pay attention....) and am wondering if that may be the hot ticket for a hunting bow.

Anybody own or shoot both on a regular basis to give me realistic comparison?

They are very comparable in many aspects. The main advantage of the PCH is being able to shoot a shorter bow, the riser is two inches shorter. With that being said the sight window also decreases. I have own both and enjoy shooting them both, but my PSAX is my go to bow. Ed

I shoot both the PSA and the PCH, and agree with Big Ed.  They are very comparable. I like the decreased weight in the woods of the PCH over the PSA, however. The shorter length is also handy for getting through those tight spots. For 3D and stump shooting I like the mass of the PSA.

I used to own an SA (older version of PSA by a year or two)and now own a PCH. Both are 56" bows, but the PCH, because of the decreased riser length, has a longer limb and I think pulls a bit smoother and shoots a bit harder. I shoot it better than I did the SA, and it's made me like shooting a recurve again (once in a while...)

Tree Rat,

How close to Kalamazoo are you? You should really try to get down there and you can shoot many versions of each of those until your fingers bleed.

I'm someone who likes the added mass weight of the PSA.

Good luck.
