Hello everyone, I'm trying to plan a hunt somewhere other than Florida. I would like to hunt out west or up north, can you point me in the right direction as to what would be a good state to apply for a license. Or what states can i just go and hunt and don't have to go through a lotto and could hunt on public land, I've only hunted hogs with my bow and would like to go after deer elk or moose anything but swamp donkeys. thank you Erick
Bama's got about 108 days of bow huntin..two deer a day limit, 3 bucks total for the year...not much wrong with that....lots of public land on top of that. That wouldn't be too far of a trip comparatively speaking from your location.
I plan to hunt Utah this year. It will be an over the counter tag, but you do have to apply for it by sometime around the first of march.
The non-resident license is $65.00 and the application fee is $10.00, then the tag is $263.00.
If you have any interest, let me know. You would be welcome in my camp.

well I could use a caribou partner....pretty cheap hunt relatively speaking. All DIY....caribou are nomadics and if they are not around we could turn it into a black bear hunt.
Got any good turkey spots?
Blacktail are you going for elk in Utah?
AkDan where do you go for caribou and how much are the permits?
thank you everyone that should definitely point me in the right direction.
Definitely applying for another Ky elk drawing permit around April (?). If not drawn, I hope to hunt Oregon w/another Tradganger in August or September. If interested let me know. Ky is my first choice but so far no luck w/the drawing. Never killed an elk but its #1 on my list.
South Dakota has over the counter deer tags that are good for both whitetail and mule deer. We also have over the counter antelope. West of the Missouri River we have the Black Hills for a Mountain type setting with a lot of National Forest lands and praires have National Grasslands and a bunch of private land leased for Walk In Areas for just as it says. This link has all the hunting information.

license cost is $195 I believe. Don't tell anyone, our archery hunting is kind of a secret.
That would be good, but you might run into Benny Spies out there!Just joshing,Im originally from So.Dak.Great place to hunt and fish!Wish I would get to go back home and do dat one of these years.

Nice try. Managers ride good herd on the classifieds especially to limit shenanigans. You'll hit a hundred before you know it, then learn to appreciate the care they give. No kidding.

Erick,
Haul road, 400 for tag and liscense and if you dont use it on a caribou you can turn around and use your caribou tag on a blck bear instead. so you dont have to buy 2 seperate tags however once its used is used...can only use it once.
Fly to fairbainks get in truck ddrive north. I have plenty of gear. Just understand caribou are nomads. They are there one day gone the next and there is no telling when or where they will be.
when is season?

well it only took four posts for turkeys to come up! ;) Look at what you may have to trade...Florida offers gators, hogs, and Osceola turkeys...all of which are highly sought after. Unfortunately I don't have good access t any of them! If you do you can hunt out of state on swap hunts until the cows come home.

What's funny is after you reach 100, you need to ask permission. That is when they look at how you reached 100 posts. That is also when you realize that not only did you waste our time, that you also wasted your energy doing absolutely nothing. Why not get involved in the site and add some meaningful substance instead of just a bunch of jiberish and crap. You will thank yourself in the end. Don't look for the instant satisfaction, earn it, and you will appreciate it a whole lot more in the long run.
