Bring small game points and lots of arrows. Everyone that attended last year had a great time and saw a bunch of rabbits! I will have some 3-D targets setup outside along with an Ariel target thrower.....so bring your flu flu arrows.
Use the map link for directions to get you to my house. We hope to head out hunting at 9:00 or so. I will have the coffee on early and some donuts and such.
My wife will be make a big batch of chili with some Elk burger along with some other treats. I will have liquid refreshments, bring your own if you have something special you drink.
Anyone that would like to stick around to watch the game is welcome! Bring some extra clothes and you can shower and clean up at my house if you wish.
Please sign in.......if you are planning on attending, so I can get a head count for food and etc.
I'm planning on it Kevin. Anybody from my area that would like to go and carpool - let me know.
Wish I could, but with the Packers in the Super Bowl, I think my stark raving mad Packer fan girl friend will have my day planned !
I plan on being there again. I'll have to see if my daughter wants to come with again this year.
I'll be there again. Have a score to settle with the bunny I missed last year.
Kevin, Thanks for the generous offer, but I cannot make this weekend. Business trip.
Thanks for the invite Kevin! I will try to make it, but I need to double check a few things first. I will let you know!
Again, thank you!
Looking good! Super Bowl doesn't start until evening, so plenty of time to work off a little pent up energy beforehand.
Whip,
There's a game that day? I hadn't noticed. :(
By the way, my daughter's really looking forward to chasing some rabbits up there again. When she got home from school I asked her if she wanted to tag along. She gave me her customary "that was a stupid question" look. :archer:
I sure would like to, just noticed it's a 2 and a half hour drive for me, but if i can get some of the other guys from Milwaukee that would want to go, i would come, you know guys like JOE.B (Bowhuntinfool), so we will see. Thanks for the invite Kevin.
Leave at 6, couple hour drive for coffee at 8, hunt at 9 for 3 hrs, eat at 12, leave at 1 or 2,home by 4, ease back in the recliner and ready for the game at 6. By the numbers it sounds like a good day!
I just came back from a sales call and a bunny scouting mission!
Sales call ........ no sale
Bunny scouting !!....saw two bunnies and one was HUGE! Looked like he would be in the top ten in P&Y.
I have permission on several parcels close by my house....so things are looking good.
Yes, and even Bears fans like Jason are welcome. :wavey: Go..Pack..Go!
Kevin,
Can't make it this year because of on-call schedule at work (will be hard for someone to cover for me on that day).
But thank you for the offer again.
I had a blast last year. One of the highlights was when we all lined up on either side of the top of the ravine and that rabbit was running back and forth amongst a firestorm of arrows and no one even hit him! Luckiest rabbit ever.
The hospitality was great. If anyone didn't go last year and plan to go this year you will have FUN!
Keven, Re-thinking this after reading smokes post. About a 2 hr. drive. It's a great time, and I might pick up a Huntmore chair from you too. I just might do this, will know mid-week.
Michael, Hope you can come. The grandson and I went on another bunny scouting excursion and found a bunch of sign just north of my house. Here is one the grand son kicked out.

Then he found this buck rub and we picked up a few cameras that I had out and had some pics of those bucks that helped make those rubs.

Nice shots Kevin. Wish I could make it. It sure looks like you have some good spots to loose arrows. Or do I mean to loose some arrows.8^) Have fun.
Sounds like we had better break out the snowshoes for bunny hunting this coming weekend 15"-20" by the time it's all over......well! at least that what they are saying now.
:archer2:
Still trying to figure things out....I'm hoping to make it!
Joe, What's to figure out? .....just get in that vehicle and come!
I'm bringin' snowshoes Joe !!
I'm in, with 2 friends. Looking for snowshoes now! How deep are the bunnies going to be buried?
OK...now that we have over 24" of snow on the ground we are ready to roll. Bring your snowshoes if you have them!
Please respond and add your name to the roll call if you know that you will be coming. I need to know for food and refreshments how may are coming. Are any of you staying to watch the game?
Here is our list:
Tim Radke + 2 friends
I'm in!
I'm in Kevin but won't be staying for the game.
I'm in.
Sorry can't make it. Schduled for a stress test on the 7th, Doc said don't do anything until after the test.
Sorry, I cant make it. I will be mentally preparing for the butt whooping my steelers are going to put on your boys. You might just want to stay in the woods and hunt all evening.
Just joking, would love to do some rabbit hunting, but Wisconsin is a little to far. Good luck though............in the woods.
Come on Aaron.....talking all that smack! How about a friendly wager! :dunno:
With the Bucks and Bunny pics, I am wishing I lived near Monroe, WI.
Have fun guys.
OK ......here's who will be coming Sunday so far. The weather has caused a few people to back out so far.
Tim Radke + 2guests
Joe Lasch (Whip)
Pete McMiller
Bruce Haukom (Smoke1953)
Jerry Karbon (Orion)
John & Jake Reich
If you have snowshoes you might want to bring them...just in case! (We might have some snow on the ground yet on Sunday)
We will be hunting several smaller parcels, so we will truck pool to the different spots. They are all within 1/2 mile of my house.
I made an aerial target thrower and have a bunch of disc's to shoot at...so if you have flu flu arrows bring them. :archer2:
My 2 guests turned into 1.. but I'm still working on getting it back up to 2!
I'm in Kevin....I'll be riding down with Whip! Lookin forward to it!

Good Luck Guys!
Hope no one gets lost in a snow drift!
Yeah thats aways a possibility Charlie! LOL!
This was a pic from last years hunt, will be a lot more snow this year. See ya there, then we'll rush back to watch the Pack! Kevin we should be there by 8:30 unless the snow coming tomorrow slows us a bit.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. I've got the aerial thrower set up in the field next to my house and the food prep has been taken care of by my loving and efficient wife.
I took a walk with the snowshoes to see how it would be navigating the snow, it wasn't to bad. If a fat out of shape guy like me can do it.....it should be a piece of cake for you guys. I saw a fair amount of fresh tracks, but I didn't try kicking any bunnies out. I will wait till Sunday for that.
GO PACK GO!!!!!!!!!
Good luck guys!
Ah heck....... Just seen this now and I'm only 15 minute drive from ya. Maybe next year.
Good Luck to you on the bunnies. (don't be to hard on them) GPG
well??? Game time in a couple hours, the hunt should be winding down soon.
Wish I could have made it too! I'm about 2.5 hours north, but have prior commitments this year. Going to put it on the mental calendar for next year. It would be nice to meet more people on this site.
Game time is in a couple of hours, yes. Boy, the streets of Wisconsin sure are going to be deserted this afternoon and evening.
Know what you mean Mike. I would love to be closer also for the hunt.
Last time GB was in the SB I drove 10 miles (through town) (in Wisconsin)and only saw one other car.

Back in Winklers lodge. This Packer game has got me sweating. Great time today, time will tell if it's a really great day for we Wisconsinites. 2 min. left in the game.
PACKERS!!!!!! :readit:
Greta Pics Smoke!!
Now that's what I call a great day - bunny hunt in the morning, good food with good friends, and a Super Bowl win to top it off!
Life is good!!!
The snow depth was sure a challenge. Even with snowshoes wouldn't support my ig carcas in the soft powder. But we didn manage to work our way around, and I actually got within shooting range of bunnies on three seperate occasions. Slow reactions time prevented any arrows from being loosed though.
Thanks for a great time Kevin. You have a beautiful spot there, and I can't wait for the next one
I should have gone bunny hunting hunting instead of watching the game.
Congrats to you packers fans.
Looks fun fellas.Glad you all had a good hunt.
That was fun Kevin! Thanks again. Awesome property too!
The snow definitely made thngs tough, but we did see some bunnies! Tough walking, but the snow was nice and soft the times I fell!
Thanks again for the beginning of a great day! And if you ever find yourself with too much of that potato soup, gimme a call!
Good times brother...good times! Thanks again Kevin! Go Pack Go....what a great way to end a hunt.... A Super Bowl win!!!!!
