I found a Browning Cobra locally that I am going to see and probably buy tomorrow. I know it is 52#, but not much else. Will post pics when I get it. I can't wait. Really excited, not just to get a bow for myself, but to give my other one to my son.
The guy said his dad owned an archery shop when he was growing up and the pics of it show it being stored well. I hope it was as well cared for as I think it will be.
Any arrow suggestions? I pull 29 inches. I like aluminum and carbon. Thanks! :bigsmyl: :goldtooth:
good luck I hope it works out for you.
goodluck I know the feeling, falling asleep dreaming of a new or new to you bow is wonderful.
Good luck Dave. Be sure to post pics when ya get her home.
Just got it home. Its a 1968 Cobra. Wish it was as valuable as the Shelby version. Really short bow at 50". Draws really easy for such a short bow. Surprised me. Pics tomorrow!! Came with a couple dozen woodies with a variety of broadheads. Gotta check them out and see what's there.
Good luck dont forget the pics.
Shoot it straight. And dido on the pics.

Nice bow.
It is really light and feels like a kids bow because it is 10" shorter than what I otherwise shoot.
So the arrows that came with it are homemade woodies. 14 have bear razorheads, three have bodkins, and two are bowlos. Never seen those before. they are really long and narrow and look like they get beat up pretty easy.
Looks great!
Browning made some excellent bows. I've got a 1966 Explorer (also 52#@28" - I draw to 30") that is my favorite bow to shoot.
Very nice :archer:
Nice!!
Good looking bow, congrats
Just noticed that one of the broadheads is a hornet.
from the looks of that bow you did well....
Enjoy shooting it.
How about some arrow and BH pics
I know the excited feeling, I ordered a bow from Thunderstick Archery in December, and I will get it in March, can't wait for it.
Good luck with your new bow.
I put the arrows up for sale in the classifieds. I am just not a woodie guy. Pics are there.
nice bow...i have a nice cobra II on my wall I was able to get this past summer...hope to pick up an Explorer II, Nomad Stalker II, and Backpacker II. then I can start back on my more modern desires....Schafer Silvertip, Blacktail Elite, Dean Torges bamboo backed osage....and to find and buy back the Noble Longbow I sold in 90s.
Beautiful Cobra, I think you made a great find. Hope you enjoy Don
Thats a sweet bow
I just sold one to BigJohn here on the classifieds last week and they are sweet bows ...I bet you will have fun busting nocks with that one..Keefer's <><
Looks like you did good to me!
Eric.
Easy to get excited over a beauty like that! That aged wood will sing like a Strat.
Haven't had a chance to shoot it with work, weather, scouts, etc. Hopefully Wednesday the weather will hold out and I can get out there and put some arrows through it. Thanks for all the good wishes!!
Now, that is one FINE looking compact bow. You did real well on this one. The Browning Cobras and Bear Mag/SuperMags are just awesome bow, if you shoot these altra short recurves. Congrats
