Title: What inserts for the 1920?
Post by: Blackhawk on January 23, 2011, 08:54:00 PM
The 1920 aluminum arrow has been out of production for a while, and I recently found a small supply of shafts.  Does anyone know of a substitute insert for the 1920?

According to my papers the ID of the 1920 is .2569

The closest I can find is 1813 which is .2553

Next is 1814 which is .2533

Would a 1918 (obsolete, but easier to find) be too big?

I would try a 1813 like Hot Hap suggested. On a 2020 Easton consolidated their inserts, when you order 2020 inserts you get 1913/2020.They are 1913 inserts, they fit but not really perfect.

Those 3 shafts are the only ones with a .25xx ID. The next is a 1816 with a ID of .2493

I shot them for awhile, and discovered some carbon inserts fit perfectly----sorry I can't remember which ones, but your archery store should have some

What I have done before also is to mount a blunt in my drill and then thread on the insert. Then spin it and file or sand the insert to fit,it doesn't take much with aluminum to fit.
