Have a bow with fastflight string on it.My wood arrows don,t fit snug enough they are to loose.
What should I do to have the grip the string better??????/
You can put them in a cup of hot water for 10 to 15 seconds then pinch them together then let them cool,I just went to Bohning snap nocks works great on my Fast Flight string.
Double nock point, new nocks, serve over the serving,I think it may be quicker and cheaper to replace.I use a served double nock point on my bow to alleviate this problem.
Hard to say, there are so many different types and diameters of FF type strings.Which type and how many strands was it built with?FF string these days is kind of a generic term. You can use dental floss to build up the area where you nock or reserve it.
i use 8 strands of 450+ and double serve with .022 Diamondback and the nocks fit snug but not tight.
Its not real conventional but you can use a thin layer of masking tape on your serving where the nock rests :dunno:
Get the string re-served to fit, or the simple way would be add a few wraps of dental floss to get a custom fit. When you get the fit you want, add a drop of super glue.
I'll add that you do NOT want a tight snap--it can screw up tuning, add noise, and reduce performance.
X2 the masking tape. Works great.
I had exactly the same problem it the past. I solved it as follows:
I use dental floss to make a winding over the existing serving. it doens't need to be long, just enought to fit your nock on it. Start right under your knocking point on the serving (the winding against it) and go down, I use a knotless winding, some stringwax over it, and there you go!
Very easy to do, low-cost, effective and it holds forever!
For me I found that a layer of dental floss right where the nock fits and then two layers of serving material gave me the fit I wanted with the nocks and string I used.

Thanks guys I,m sure I have it solved!!!!!!!!
Good information. I'm going to put it to use myself. I have a dozen arrows with the same problem.
Thanks too all,
Bob
1 inch piece of heat shrink tube below your nock locator!
Make sure that you make the winding on the serving not too thick. The nock must come off very easily, otherwise you loose to much speed. As long as it don't fall off, it is all right!
I have done what Duker said and used masking tape many times, just doesn't last long for me. Thats when I had to learn to do my own serving.
