Can someone tell me the best way to cut off a couple of inches of the stick? I have one that is a little long for my pack. Thanks-Hap

4" angle grinder and a cut-off wheel should do the trick, or a metal cutting chop saw.

Or, make a sleeve out of leather that straps to your backpack to carry the full length.
