I use a burner. :)
Rick, what is that fletch style called on the last two sets? I like the looks of those.
I've been waiting for you to post some Rick. Those are sweet!
Nothing fancy, but they work.

A feather burner is on my to make list. I usually have access to left and right wings from a dozen turkeys every spring...it's hard for me to swallow them being wasted.

totally high art feather splicing!
Very nice looking work.
Questions;
Snag, how do you get that cream, pearl color crest?
Fletcher, I recently purchased a burner and am having a terrible time getting the ribbon to the shape I want, mostly Pope & Young.
How do you shape your ribbon?
Could you post pictures of your ribbon that has been shaped?
Thank You,
Byron
Those are sweet looking arrows fellas.
Great looking arrows to all. I was going to ask if those were "burnt" as I would never guessed chopped could look so good.
Kudos to you all. maybe one day I'll be that good at arrow building.
those are some beautiful pictures...have some friens hunting turkey this weekend....hopefully I will end up with some feathers.
Here is some that I made up to look like old Bear arrows using turkey feathers.

Those are sweet Onestringer! Love the combo and cock feather.
Nothing fancy. I ground and cut them with homemade jigs.

Here are a few of mine. Most are tied on. Some regular 3 fletch, some Cherokee style 2 fletch and some my version of a 2 fletch. The last pic has one goose feather fletch in a 3 feather tangential style.

Good looking ara's fellas
Congrats on some really nice work fellas. Onestringer, that is some outstanding splicing!
I just finished these up. Used some Rit dye "Scarlet" for the red as I wanted a deep color red. It works nicely but you have to be very careful of it smearing on the finish dip as evidenced on some of the white areas under the feathers. Next time I know just how to handle it.
