A feather burner is on my to make list.  I usually have access to left and right wings from a dozen turkeys every spring...it's hard for me to swallow them being wasted.

Very nice looking work.
Questions;
Snag, how do you get that cream, pearl color crest?
Fletcher, I recently purchased a burner and am having a terrible time getting the ribbon to the shape I want, mostly Pope & Young.
How do you shape your ribbon?
Could you post pictures of your ribbon that has been shaped?
Thank You,
Byron

Great looking arrows to all. I was going to ask if those were "burnt" as I would never guessed chopped could look so good.

Nothing fancy.  I ground and cut them with homemade jigs.

Here are a few of mine. Most are tied on. Some regular 3 fletch, some Cherokee style 2 fletch and some my version of a 2 fletch. The last pic has one goose feather fletch in a 3 feather tangential style.

Congrats on some really nice work fellas.  Onestringer, that is some outstanding splicing!    :thumbsup:

I just finished these up. Used some Rit dye "Scarlet" for the red as I wanted a deep color red. It works nicely but you have to be very careful of it smearing on the finish dip as evidenced on some of the white areas under the feathers. Next time I know just how to handle it.
