Welcome and hope you enjoy TG as much as i do.
Welcome indeed. I look forward to meeting you.
any shoots in north Ms. that I should know about? I love 3D?
Welcome from North MS. Lost Tribe Traditional Archers in Collierville ,TN puts on good shoots, usually 2'nd Sat. of the month. About 30 minutes east of Memphis at Herb Parsons Lake State Park. I am out of town and do not have the dates and #'s of the club, you can check them out on their web site. Where are you in MS?
Where "up North" did you move ?
STA, Southern Traditional Archers also has good shoots in various MS locations.
Cecil,
Like FlyFixer mentioned, STA has events. A very special one is the Jerry Pierce Memorial Shoot in May at Enid Lake. Here is a link to check out:

i hear mississippi has got hogs
I'm in Northeast MS, not far from Tupelo. There's two good tournaments coming up next month within reasonable driving distance that I plan to attend.
If you need more info, shoot me an e-mail, give me a call, or come by my shop (just outside Fulton).

Almost forgot....Biggie, we appreciate folks putting out "warnings"....if folks knew the truth, we'd be overrun with Yankees in no time flat....
Welcome sir! :campfire:

That's Canada!!! Isn't it???
Bowmania
Great comment LBR and I hope Hoffman will keep up the spout. He has no idea at all of what he's running off about, but maybe a lot of people will listen to him. Let's hope so.
it just as well be Canada, as cold as it's been !
We have a nice 3d range here in Oxford, your not far away.
North MS is Corinth not Como. LOL!!! Welcome you will love it here.
welcome! Please join the Miss Bowhunter Assc. They have shoots all year.
Hogdancer and I are partial to the Southeatern Traditional Archers shoot on Enid Lake in the spring.. all the crappie and crawdads you can eat...sometimes we shoot the coarse :)
I think Como qualifies as the northern part of the state, what is it 20-25 miles from TN ? It sure feels cold enough to be considered north.. LOL !
The shoot at Enid lake is a good one for sure, just don't get in the food line behind Joebuck !
thanks everyone for your info. We will hope to meet all of you sometime in the neer future..
Welcome from Kentucky
If all goes well I'll be moving further North latter this year. Just have to work out some business issues.
any one going to the IBO worlds??
LBR, that's why we have a sign in north Georgia that says; "Turn Right Here".
;)
Lol Biggie--nuff said!
TW, I plan on being there. Although I shot like a beginner last year, I had a good time. Twin Oaks is hard to beat--you should check out their TN Classic in May.
Lots of good folks in Mississippi, lots of deer and lots of hogs too(which you can kill at will). Not to mention turkey, rabbit, squirrel and other tasty critters. Lots of good cooks to prepare your game too.
MS traditional archers may not be as organized as some states but they are the best you can find, always willing to help and share. We are "the hospitality state" for a reason.
Hey guys, do they still do the Loften Shoot?
QuoteHey guys, do they still do the Lofton Shoot?
Afraid that one died a slow, painful death. Dang shame--it used to be one of the best in the country. Long story behind it's demise--at least it was still going while Mr. Bobby was still around.
The Jerry Pierce Memorial Shootout is put on by some of the same folks that did the work for the Lofton when it was good. It's not as big (yet), but it is good. It's in May, and held at Enid Lake (not far from Grenada, where the Lofton was held). The same group puts on a charity tournament for Catch-a-Dream (www.catchadream.org) every year. Last year we raised $5,000 for the kids--we plan to do better this year.
Welcome aboard, The Trad Gang is a great community. Enjoy Don
