48# @28 is what I shoot and my set up needs at the very most a .500 spined arrow shaft. The 55/75's may be a bit stiff?
But then you could always play around with the point weight to effectively bring the spine down. I would suggest leaving them full length at first and only take off small increments of arrow shaft until they fly like you want them to.

Good luck and let us know how it goes because I have also been thinking about trying some and have been wondering if I could get the 55/75's to tune well.

33/55 for sure, with 300gr up front they (55/75) are way to stiff for my son's 47#er. I shoot them (55/75)all the time out of 65# and up bows with 300gr up front.

No better deal than Big Jim's for GT blems - $42.95/doz.

they both have the *potential* to work well (with 48# @ 28").

there are many factors involved.  lots of bows are mismarked for draw weight, too.  and some of us actually have shorter draw lengths than we think.   :)

no matter what, this is why it's best to put together a carbon test kit and some screw-in field points ranging from 125 to 300 grains.  don't need or want fletching. 2 shafts of each spine.  leave one full length and cut one an inch past yer true draw length.  test out the range of points. there's a good flyer in there, somewhere.

there is NOTHING like doing yer own bow/arrow testing!   ;)

As others have said, there are other factors at work beyond shaft length and draw weight, and testing different spine and point weight combinations is the way to go.  For what it's worth, I draw 48# at 29".  I can shoot a 30" 3555 with 125 up front or a 30" 5575 with 200 up front and both of them bare shaft perfectly.

Hijacking this thread if you dont mind Daniel, my quiz in right in your line...thinking of getting me GT 5575, got a 50Ibs at 28 draw, draw 29...got 125gr heads...or should I go 3555 instead?
