I had a chance to get out deer hunting in CT yesterday afternoon. The wind was all wrong for any of my stands so I moved to the other side of the property along a very packed down trail in the snow. I saw at least 12 deer but none on my side of the property and of course at least 5 walked right under 2 of my stands. Too bad the wind wasn't going to let me in there.
I set up the Ghost Blind pretty much in the open 10yds from a break in a stone wall. I threw some sticks in front of it and set up my decoy 30yds in front and to the left of me, hoping it would draw any attention away from me as the deer came through the wall. Oh well. I'll be back at it tomorrow.

What do you think of the ghost blind?
LOOKS GOOD
I like it. The first time I used it I was in a pine forest and it totally vanished. I had a few deer within 10yds and they never looked at me. The wind switched before I could get a shot, but they never "pinned" me. They were looking around and through me before they finally left. I was a little too in the open yesterday for my liking, but it blends in way better than a pop up blind and gives you some freedom to move. I still prefer to be in a 'thicker" area though
Are you just sitting on the ground behind it, or are you on a stool or what? Have you tried to shoot over it yet?
Thanks for the info
I sit on a stool behind it and have no problem shooting through the ports. Just have to make sure you sit back far enough so you have clearance with your limbs and nocked arrow
I had trouble "finding" it in the pic. Where do you find some info on these?RC

Search for the ghost blind website, they have tons of pics and info. I am sold on it. It's not something I'll hunt out of all the time but its a great tool to have for certain situations
RC you can build one yourself.

Mudd,
You are one resourceful bugger...
tell us about the material for your "Blind"...
I've seen these Ghost Blinds advertised during hunting shows and amazing, as I searched those pics at the top and was impressed...
Uhhh, OK, I seem to have missed the fun. Mudd, what did you edit out, my friend. Curious minds want to know.
Wish ya had that at the group ground hunt earlier this year.
That thing looks rather functional. Hmmmm.
Those are an interesting concept and they look really neat in the pictures. I would be still be worried about the face being a mirror and having a "shiny" look to it even when the panels are tilted forward. I think that background cover is more important than front cover so I would be worried about deer seeing me move to shoot. I also wonder if it would be noisy to carry through brush. At $250, that thing must have a huge profit margin!
