I'll work on the pics I've got five beauty's!
In my opinion, it is the best hunting rig out there. Customer service is exceptional, fit and finish are top notch and it performs very well. I would suggest test driving one from the Windauer's or acquiring one used.
Yo could also do a search here in the pow wow forum to gain a bit more perspective on the "Silvertip".
Here are a few I own and have owned.
Old faithful. 60" 56#@28"

My 58" 1 piece, this bow is a thoroughbred.

One that got away--Wish I knew where this bow ended up!

My first custom Tip I ordered from Dave and Beth!
A nery nicely made bow and the checkered grip is the best after the points are nocked down a little.

I have a 60" recurve 54# at 28". It is walnut diamond riser with the green camo limbs. By far the best feeling curve I have ever had in my hands. Sorry but I don't even have a pic of it. If you do a search for silvertip pics, you'll get a bunch of'em! Jason
I haven't owned one, but probably will in the future, partly owing to having had excellent communication with the Windauers when I have asked questions.
Limbbow,
What is the wood in the riser on the 4th picture - Dec 2006? It looks like Rosewood? Is it that or Rosewood Dym? The one immedaitely above looks like Bocote?
Thanks

Roy,
It is rosewood dymondwood with camphor burl limb veneers. 60" 52#@28, Antler tips/knobs w/checkered medium grip.
Kevin
Nice lookin Bow's gentlemen.
I like 'em! Saying that, I did sell my 62" recurve (and that was a mistake).
When I get another (for my big ole fingers and draw)... it will be either a 64, or 66".
David
Top notch solid shooting bows

I have 2.5 Silvertip recurves, and really like them.
limbow, would you please not show :nono: that pic of that Tip with the rosewood and camphor burl limbs? It depresses me everytime I see it. :(
Sorry Lon, the bad news is I no longer have it. The good news is someone else is enjoying it!
I ordered bow # 10 on the sponsor classified ads here at trad gang. Cant wait for it to get here. If I like it as much as I think I will Im going to have a new one built to my specs. Hear alot of good things about them.

Sweet bows guys
Here is one of mine. Great hunting bows. Handle heavy hunting arrows well and are quiet. One of my favorite.

Here is the other one.

two that I had, the one on the left I traded to Gene Carroll
Kevin,
Thanks! I'm glad to see it is Rosewood Dym! I'm planning on Rosewood or Rosewood Dym and Macassar with Myrtle limbs on my 58" leftie due in April. If I go with the Dym the bow can be FF. I was concerned the Rosewood Dym wouldn't look as good as a Rosewood bow owned by Billy Shipp. Your bow looks TERRIFIC! (I see from on of your posts the bow has a new home.)
they are ok....... :p i love mine !!

I love the charcoal diamond risers! I'm gonna have to get me one.... one of these day's. Jason

Here's one of mine...my favorite combo! Yew limbs with a Cocobolo riser! The second set are bocote. Great bows! Love the checkered grip! Dave and Beth are GREAT to work with if you order a new one!!
Here's my go-to bow...it's a Diamondwood Riser with fiddle back maple veneers in the limbs!

I just got a new to me 58" 50 @ 27 Tip that I can't put down. I was a longbow type of guy until now. I love this bow.
All those bows look good but Joe's Cocobolo really sets it apart.
Stickbow98, I like the charcoal diamondwood riser! what are the specs on that bow? I gotta fight the temptation!! It's all yall's fault, showin all these good lookin tip's! :D Jason
You guys are killing me, I wanted a black widow bow for a while now, but then I read a bunch of storys on the man( MR. Paul.) Then I changed my mind and want a silver tip they are awsome I wish I could find someone that had one close to me, so I could shoot it such a cool bow great craftmans ship.
You can ask for a test drive bow, they do that service.
Ron,I like yours as well, what wood has that riser on the last pic?
That bow built in memory of Paul is awesome! I just noticed the riser is the old style. Love that!! Jason
I will have to try one. The black diamond wood is cool.
Covey- Thanks. The Charcoal Riser bow has Birdseye Maple Limbs and is 58in and 50@28.
Felix- The last bow has a Rosewood Dymondwood riser.
The Limited Edition Paul Schafer Commemorative Bow also included a print and matching knife, making for a very special set.

What a very nice collection Ron!!
Can you tell us more on the limited edition?
I don't own one but I can guarantee you one of these days I will. It really sucks being so far away from these traditional bowyers.
I'll get one some day when I'm all grown up. ;)
They are great looking bows, but one thing I don't like is the off-side of the shelf. It looks like lumber.
On my list, along with Morrison, Robertson, Stalker, Talltines, BW...etc you get the idea.
Schultzy! You are half-way there from my perspective here in KY!
well i started this one and after seeing all your tips i ordered one
Good on you, Daniel, you'll love it!
Brute Killer, I thought the same thing about the shelf when I looked at pictures of silvertips but now that I have one in the flesh it is a more beautiful bow than I expected with nice trim lines. Just got it a couple of weeks ago. I got the fast flight model with red elm limbs.
The best thing about it is how it points and handles. I was starting to experiment with split vision/ gap shooting but now that I have the new Silvertip Im back to blocking out the arrow tip and only focusing on form and "the spot." It seems to be made for a instinctive shooter. I swear she can read my mind. Hands down the best bow I have tried thus far.
I did the same last year, still on the waiting list!
These bows are so nice! Make a great sceen saver, but then my mind would not be on my work. Well, I guess that is a good thing.
Man I never tire of seeing those beautiful tips.If I wasn't throughly satisfied with my Border Reiver,I would own one. Thanks for sharing.Gary.
These bows shoot as good as they look!! Beth and Dave are two of the finest in the industry. Top notch to say the least.
Ed
I bought one, and loved it.

Another on the way in April.
In my opinion Silvertips are the best-lookin' recurves out there. The charcoal ones are especially nice!
