The human spirit can be an amazing thing.
Thank God!
God bless,Mudd
Cool! I think the guy is lucky to have a wife like that.
Mudd sez "the human spirit can be an amazing thing"...true enough. It often times takes the amazing spirit of another human to energize the other....the giving of hope, strength, power and when all else fails, prayer.
When our friends and family stand with us, we soon learn that we can, indeed, do almost anything. And it is then we find the will to try.
Wow!!
It's been awhile since I've watched his show.I really enjoyed that story and thanks for sharing.Definitly not a lazy man I never knew ole Tred had his hands in so many things.
This guy wrestles every bit of life he can out of every moment, Doin It The Hard Way indeed. In a society that seems to prefer to give up versus getting on with it, he truly is an inspiring individual. And surely it would be a sinful thing to forget his wife... Talk About Tuff!!!
I've always thought of him as a bigmouth in the past, but I now have a lot of respect for him. I saw his bear hunt show and how the guide and his friends lugged him over that terrain in his chair. You can watch that episode with the sound turned off and still see all the different emotions in the faces. Tred could not put into words the gratitude of something like that and the tears at the end said it all.
bless 'em all...

My statement here holds true and wasn't limited to Mr. Barta.
God bless,Mudd
I had the priviledge of meeting Mr.Barta and his wife Anni at a Houston airport on the way to a family thing around thanksgiving I recogninsed him while he was wheeling away from a crocs booth I went up to Anni and asked if they had time to stop for a moment for an autograph and picture Tred was on the move and I caught up to her first she hollered at him and he came over we chatted shortly and he found a sharpie and signed my hat "To Levi never give up! Tred Barta"
He is a very nice, inspiring man and Anii is as nice as could be.

I read that this morning. Quite a guy! And on the front page, no less!
Hope to see him walk again some day soon included in my prayers. Tred swims against the current.
Tough man, Strong woman--BLESSED COUPLE!
i always liked his show. he wasnt PC and didnt act. he was himself doing what he loved. now you can really see how tuff he is. even after going through all this he still if taking game down and doing everything he loves. truly a awsome guy and i respect him alot. one of the only TV hunters i respect
I always liked the show, though went from "he says it like it is", to "What an obnoxious, self centered a**". Often in the same show. But my respect for him has gone off the charts since I have seen him work through the stroke (and now the cancer). He is truly an inspiration.
Glad he's on the road back.
The article says "He captains a fleet of high-end fishing boats at a resort in Panama. He directs his long-standing fishing tournaments that have raised more than $1 million for children's causes. He's been recertified in scuba diving. He pilots his family's 63-year-old aviation business, buying and selling corporate aircraft. He designs and builds his own line of birch-and-maple longbows, a primitive, hard-to-use weapon with a storied history as one of hunting's first tools. And he's filmed eight episodes of his celebrated show."
The only thing I don't understand is why they solicited donations for medical help.
That being said, I wish him the best and admire his attitidue under unimaginable conditions.
Tred is an inspiration. It was disappointing though to read the "comments" following the article. It is surprising just how many anti's were negative, especially the people that thought a longbow was inhumane.
Thumbs up  To the Barta's both Tred & Anni . What an inspiration :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Truly inspiring.
Didn't read the follow up comments and won't. We all admire and respect Tred, no-matter what anyone says. God Bless Him and His Wife...
What an inspiration to us all. We must count our blessings each day no matter what. I applaud him and Anni for their commitment to each other and to all of us. God bless them.
Bill, the anti hunting crowd, even with a story as positive and inspirational as this will take their shots. The good thing is it shines a bad light on them and exposes their negative dribble to others.
God bless them both..
Well said Kip!!!!! :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
God bless,Mudd
.....there are some here among us that don't think much of Tred , what he's accomplished and what he stands for - All I got to say is " You da man Barta , you da man !"
I sure would like to meet him and shoot a few arrows with him.
I made my son and wife watch his bearhunt. It was really something to see his friends and their loyalty to him. They did all they could do to help shoot that black bear. It was a great show.

bama makes a good point no matter what your views are on Tred are. Thats exactly why I only trust and send donations to Saint Judes! Man I sure hope they never let me down.

  :notworthy:
Bama - I wondered/wonder the same thing.
Either I missed part of the article or someone seen something not there. Where do they discuss him soliciting donations ? It mentions he raised $1 million for children. Am I missing something ?
You only fail when you give up!..Thumbs up Tred..
Amazing couple! Tred is an un comprimising positive voice for life and bowhunting. We are lucky to have him-and the other way around too.
Thanks for sharing the article!
