Title: Hill Enthusiasts, Meet "Robert of Naughtyham"
Post by: Wannabe1 on January 14, 2011, 04:21:00 PM
My son Robert turned 4yrs last Tuesday. He is always wanting to be outside with me shooting and compliments me on every shot by saying, "Good Shoot Papa!" I had this bow built to pass on to him when he gets older.

Tembo, 68", 51# @ 29", grey back/clear belly. African Blackwood riser and limb tips. Jason forgot to include a string so, no strung pics. They are getting one in the mail asap. Great people to deal with!

Appreciate all the great comments folks. I've gone to the Hills and I'm not coming back.   :D  Tried lots of different longbows/recurves and for some reason, the Hills just kept calling to me! After reading up on Howard and his book Hunting The Hard Way the second time around, I just decided that this was what I've been looking for.

Plus, I have no troubles shooting them as long as they are long and the arrows are tuned to the bow.

I also got this great back quiver in today to go with the bow. I traded a bow quiver and Cold Steel Rifleman hawk with two extra handles for it. Trad member Sambo(Scott) is a great guy to deal with and communicator!

I find it interesting that their is so much enthusiasm for Hill bows, and on the opposite end, Ilf bows. I sold my almost new ILF so I could buy a Hill Bobcat. What a great little bow! Now I can't wait to get a slightly longer, heavier Hill. There is just something about those Hills that seems to suck people in. Pup

Ron W, you might as well go ahead and order one. That way, you can get it just the way you want it!   :D

We are having a crappy rainy day here so, I'll get some shooting pics in when there is a break in weather. For some weird reason, I sat in my chair last night for about an hour just holding the bow and drinking coffee. Good thing the wife and kids are away for the weekend. She would think me off my rocker!   :biglaugh:

I find it interesting that their is so much enthusiasm for Hill bows, and on the opposite end, Ilf bows

I know how you feel ! wierd isn't it eh ...thats why the only two styles of bow I shoot are Hillstyle longbows and ILF 'curves    :)

There is just something about those Hills that seems to suck people in.

Its the handschock we love , the slow bow speeds ...

With a well tuned arrow and string, that little thump just tells me the bow is alive in my hands! As far as speed, they were fast enough for Howard, I recon they're fast enough for me. Besides, any faster and I might miss!
