Dido what Hap said
About 620 grains out of a 55 pound bow.
580-600 grains 47# LB bow with 160 grains points
525-550 grains.
Ditto on Daves weight.
around 600 grains for my 29.5" parallel poc woodies outta 55# holding weight, w/190 grains up front.
for lighter weight bows of 50# and under. it's tough to fine really good 11/32" woodies of any wood genus that are high in spine and low in weight. much harder still to mess with arrow balance.
31" / 60-65 / spine 125 up front.....575 gr.
I just weighed 10 of my cedars and they worked out to 590 grains ea. 30-1/2" BOP 125 gr points. 65-70# spine.
Make mine 600 grains, shot from my 50# ACS CX. Killer! :archer2:
580 grains off of 51 pound BoisdArc selfbow
The only cedar I have are the old ACME shafts. With 145-160gr heads and tail tapered they run about 600grs. I've been hunting with Surewoods though. They run about the same weight. Out of a 55# recurve they are a good combo!
I shoot 600 gr total weight, 125 in the point, with my 60# Jack Howard Jet. This is my current dozen and my point weight varies depending on the dozen. But I alway shoot for 9.5gpp to 10gpp with any given set up.
What works best for me is 495-510 with
125grain tip I like 5&1/2" shield feathers
and draw 47@27 :archer2:
