I recieved last summer my Caribow Peregrine and I was very impressed.
Now I am thinking about another one....
But I am torned between:
- Buying a Peregrine again in the same poundage,as backup
- Buying a Featherhorn which is a "real" longbow
- Buying a Tuktu which is a recurve and pulls even sweeter.
Don't say to me: "Buy all three!" I hate that! :help:
I'd get the Tuktu, same poundage, to use as backup ;)
Though I have to say, I've never even seen a Cari-Bow in real life, so I don't know nothing, except for what I read here!
Good Luck though! :)
I've shot all of them. I like the Silver Fox the best!
I agree .... You forgot to include what I consider to be the best of all Cari-Bows ;) ...that being the Silver Fox T/d LB :wavey:
A back up? You need another reason, it is very doubtfull you will need more than a spare string for a backup.
Pete
TUKTU!!! Then sell it to me.
You're done!Nothing can be done to save you!! Lol

What else do I tell the ol'lady??? :dunno:
I too have the peregrine and love it,I bought the wolverine 2 years ago for a backup hunting bow and it shoots very much like the peregrine but is shorter and lighter, great bow for treestand or ground blind hunting. abe makes some excellant bows.
Here I sit with 2 Peregrines---and 2 1/2 Silver
Foxes---and I am wondering what next. LOL.I like the hand fit on the Silver Fox better than the Peregrine--but that might just be me with my small hands.
Good luck with your decision on a bow choice . Alonzo THE ELF.
Hey Alonzo,
what if you compare the shooting characterisitics of the Peregrine and the Silver Fox? Is the SF as fast and smooth as the Peregrine is?
You can justify a 3PC silverfox for the need to have a smaller package for traveling.
Or a 2 pc Peregrine.
or how about a light weight bow for the "WIFE". :)
Pete
My wife doesn't like archery Pete! She hasn't strenght enough to pull a bow, even one of 20 lbs is to heavy for her. But I can always look for another wife ofcourse..... I just wished you hadn't give me this idea Pete, you are a wicked man....!
Hey AD. I don't know if the silver fox is as fast as the peregrine or not but both are very smooth and for me are very pleasing to shoot.Speed is nice
but--------dead is dead.
You are right Alonzo, but I shoot 3D only. Speed IS an issue here, because at a difficult tournament we have to shoot trough tiny little holes in the branches in order to hit our target. How faster the arrow, the flatter the traject.
I use flowers with my wife. She totally gets it... you can't have too many flowers.... so she understands about my bows.
God bless,Mudd
I always cook for her in the evening and bring her breakfast on bed every now and then. That helps too! :)
Although I did not chrono. the bows, the Silver fox seemed to be the quickest. Abe will know, just ask him!
Tuktu. I had one but sold it here as I've gone over to the left side. Fit like a glove, shot nice too.
Featherhorn diamond riser.
Ad: I think you need more than three. You can always tell the wife they are for her. Good luck Don
No wrong decisions here. Abe makes a great bow.

Well, in a couplw weeks I'm looking to shoot his Slynx and that Wolverine again. Fine bows! You can't go wrong as long as the spousal unit doesn't bust you up :knothead:
For longbows the Peregrin, Wolverine and Silver Fox all feel great in my hand. For recurves the Tuktu is my favorite, it seems to fit like a glove. I would agree with Ryan that the Silver Fox is definitely a front runner if your in the market for a new Cari-bow. Good luck with your choice and your better half.
I have had a Featherhorn for several years. Made the mistake of letting my oldest grandson try my recurves and longbow as he wanted to go trad. Unfortunately for me and fortunately for Abe, he 'stole' my Featherhorn and I 'had' to order a Tundra Wolf! Both are (were) great shooters. In June I had an accident and broke my Tundra Wolf and am now waiting for a Wolverine. I have been shooting a 54lb Wolverine this fall and am very impressed with the bow as a whole and the speed in particular. Down side is I now have to down size my collection of bows to pay for the new Wolverine!
IMO you can't go wrong with any model bow made by Abe, longbow or recurve; it is personal preference!
I have a Peregrine, a Wolverine and a Tuktu...they are all great bows!!
lol..... I Just ordered another Wolverine yesterday "take down". I'm lucky though, I only live just over an hour away from Abe, I get to play with the new bows. The down fall, Every time i go their it costs me money.I'm sure I have paid lots of Abe's bills over the years...lol I'm glad I have an understanding wife !!!!! The featherhorn is a real nice shooting bow. The Best hunting year I have ever had in my life for taking big game animals, was with a featherhorn. I still have that bow, and it is from the early 90's. Good luck Ad.

I picked up a Peregrine 2pc 62" 51@28 and it is a really sweet bow!!! Really fast, quiet and not finicky about arrows. It's the first one I've owned so it's the only one I can talk about. If all Mr. Penners bows are build this well I'd say it's a hard choice.
I would like to try a Wolverine. I think it would be a sweet little hunting bow :)

tuktu is an awesome bow.i had one and loved it,very smooth and fast.
Ok,
at the moment I am leaning towards the Silver Fox for the following reasons:
- Take down, so easy to travel with
- available with 64 inch long limbs, so it will have even a sweeter draw
- more mass in the riser (I think)
- I love the way how the premium risers look and how the blend with the limbs!
Now I have to raise some funds and start arranging my divorce.... ;)
Now that's funny!!!!!
Just jokin' here....
