Just interested in opinions...wanted to try a longbow and those are the two I have chosen.  Candid input is appreciated.

I have two Robertsons and my son has one.  I think that the Robertsons shoot right on par with the best Schulz lo9ngbows I have eve owned.  They are a bit faster, have less hand shock, perhaps due to the fast flight as much as the R/D, (Schulz bows did have much shock), Robertson will build any grip you want and take it very seriously with no arguments.  I prefer a lower grip and he wanted to get the size exactly right for my hand.  Ours are not for sale. We have a Pearce Point cocobolo with knotless juniper bamboo, a coco/osage custom handle with knotless juniper/bamboo, and a book matched all four veneers - fiddled myrtle with a myrtle handle, a work of refined simplistic art.

I have owned both and they are nice bows!! I would however have to give the upper hand to the Fedora!! the fedora is extremely FAST and no hand shock what so ever, that being said I know Mike has alot of in stock bows and he will send you one to try out, also the fedoras are AWESOME people! good luck, every fodora i have owned or seen has been flawless in crafsmenship and shoot ability.

Me and my dad both shoot Xcellerators. There real sweet shooters and Im considering the Xtreme for down the road since Im sure it shoots just as good.

No input on the other bow though. Good Luck

the 2 bows you are considering are completely different.
The Robertson is a light R/D longbow very close to a straight bow Dshaped,  with a simple grip while the Fedora is a radical 3 piece TD hybrid bow with specific anatomical grip.

Considering performance, the Xtreme will outperform by far the primal styk.
Considering bow lenght (for bowhunting pupose) a 58" Xtreme will be sweet up to 29"

i killed a lot of game with my Xtreme and so far it is my magic bow
