I just got my new 3 Rivers catalog and noticed the Bear Td model is $799.00. I thought the last catalog I looked at had the same bow for $1299.00 Is this a new Korean made bow?
-
Go custom for that $$$$.
-
It is not a Korean made bow. They are made at the Bear Archery plant in Gainesville, Florida.
-
I also noticed the drop in price. Still a bit much for a factory bow. Anyone know the reason for the decrease?

Because one is a supreme TD and one is the new black and red dymondwood TD.
I'm sold on the new ones and will be ordering one through my local shop when they become availible.I shot one and it was every bit as good as any custom bow. This from a guy that swore off production bows too.

I saw these Bear TDs in person yesterday. I bought two Supremes in 2010 -- one B and a special made A riser. The Supremes are very nice. These new TDs have a slightly "beefier" grip which I prefer (although most would still consider it slim). I ordered the new B and A yesterday on my way home after handling these bows at the trade show in Indianapolis. I have several of the top customs and love em. These new Bear TDs though are fantastic! I only ordered one set of Bear limbs though because I prefer Brandon's limbs at Rose Oak for these TDs. I just didn't want to wait until October for a pair of black glass limbs.
I think the price at $799 is very reasonable. I wouldn't trade a 2011 Bear TD for a Supreme even though the supreme is $500 more expensive.
Only one custom I like can be bought for less than this Bear TD.
By the way, in talking to Bear about the resurgence in Traditional. They have hired two new people in the Trad building dept. and are considering a night shift. I'm pulling for Bear and Traditional to come back bigger than ever.

Tax return time and I am placing an order too. B riser with a #3 limb @ 50lb.........I think. I called the factory and begged for clear glass limbs and they said "no way only black". Wonder why?
I realy would like clear for hunting. The black shows up too much for the deer. Seems a shame to have to hide those limbs with limb covers.
-
Has anyone themselves, or heard of anyone, who has actually ordered one and taken delivery????
if so how long did it take? if you have ordered one how long have you waited so far?
Thanks

RG,
I wonder if it was the complaints from the Supreme owners. I recall seeing a few used Supreme with wrinkles in the clear glass where the limbs stress or bend. I know a few sent them back for warranty work, but the replacement did the same.
I like the new Take down and will keep an eye out on the used market when the hit.
-
So you are saying that it is possible to buy the riser only?
-
Yes, you can buy just a riser.
-
I am wondering if they want to build a Supreme woods riser with the beefier new handle.
-
I like the fact that you can get just a riser,,replacement latches are a great idea also.
-
"Every bit as good as a custom" at custom prices...but not made just for you? Looking forward to see what they have to offer at KaZoo.
-
At 3Rivers? Could not find it anywhere there??

Thanks
I have been waiting over 8 weeks for an A-Riser. I do suspect that they are probably getting FLOODED with orders though.
-
OSA; who did you order the riser from?
-
3Rivers has them in their new catalog. If you can find a local Bear dealer that might be another avenue.
Does 3Rivers have them in stock?
I wonder how long the "real" wait time is?
-
I simply called the Bear Pro Shop in Gainsville to order mine over the phone.
-
Same Here.
-
I was at 3Rivers today and they are looking to get the new Bears in around the end of January. They did have a new Grizzly with a Dymondwood riser, but being in a hurry, I didn't look at it.
-
if you don't mind me askin, what are they charging for just a riser?
-
Hopefully we'll start shipping some of the new T/D's next week. We have several risers and plenty of limbs ready to go, just got to get the QC guy to pass em :) .
-
Sweeet! Maybe mine is in that batch!
-
Craig/FL, are all risers to be 'beefier' in the future. Or are some beefier have a special name; and the slim are still available?
-
Risers $489 @ 3 Rivers.
-
all the new risers are beefier !!! woodier!!! The Traditional shop is on O.T. and hired 5 more guys last i heard , takes time to train new help though . The risers are awesome looking too , dark almost black with red accents. lets see a few serial #'s were 011, 012, up to 17 or so B risers and A's there crankin em out fast as they can guys. Thank you CG!

You bet. FWIW, I had emailed him about getting just a riser, and he responded that he could. Seems like his price was the same that has been mentioned here on this thread at 3 Rivers.
