Thanks in advance!!!
I do.
Beautifully crafted, beautiful woods. The fit and finish is flawless. Curley Maple has a look all it's own. Shoots as quickly and quietly as any bow I've ever owned.
And Bill and Tracey are first class folks.
I do. Love em. Go ahead and place your order, youll have no regrets.
gen
they were first made by bob thompson in west by god virginia . i do not know who or were they are made now .they are a nice bow .

Sent you some eye candy!!
Thanks for the info guys!!
I love my Zipper extreme. Wonderful craftsmanship, and simply the most pointable design I've shot. The grip is amazing, fits my hand like a glove. They are fast, quiet, and pack a punch.
Bill and Tracy are wonderful people and will work with you through all steps of the process. You will not be disappointed.
Here's a link (http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=058407#000000) to the story behind mine:
A. Kinslow, wow that is a great story and a sharp bow!! Thanks
Luck fell on me one day and I purchased a mint condition STX with longbow limbs with Carbon an Foam cores. It came with the matching two piece quiver in exactly the length and weight I wanted. Its got a fantastic checkered grip and in all honesty shoots as fast as my go to recurves.I have never shot a faster or more accurate bow right from the start. The workmanship is with the best made today. You can't go wrong with a Zipper.
Bill makes great bows and is an awesome guy
bill is a very nice guy and this is a plus, but when you buy a bow you want performances.I own something like 90 bowa and at least 12 custom bowyers bows, the top ones.Well the Zipper is on the very top of them. I have a XST with recurve Evolution limbs and I can't be more happy with it.craftmanship is really at the best, woods are hand selected with great care to details. The bow is maybe the quitest recurve I own, fast accurate and forgiving. In the beginning I was afraid that being so light(like a LB)and with a very low brace heigh it could be unstable,I was wrong death in the hands like none.I think it is one of the best designed bows ever.IMHO.
I have two of the sxt risers one with recurve limbs the other with long bow limbs.I can't praise them enough, they are beautiful bow that are excellent shooters, quiet, smooth and spot on,you can't go wrong with a zipper.Bill and Tracy are wonderful people to work with so go ahead and order.
Great bows! Very smooth, fast and quiet.
The Extreme on the right has been my long term, go-to bow. Bill just let me know he is about done with a set of his newest hot shot limbs for it...
I bought a standard riser recurve from Bill a few years ago. I shot one at Kalamazoo and bought it right there I liked it so much. Looks good too!
They look like great bows. But I don't have enough cash to even think about buying one haha.
Good news sawtoothscream.I am working on a bare bones hunter model. The riser choices will be either brown or black dymalux and the limbs will be either brown or black glass. They will have brown or black actionwood limb cores. These bows will have the classic limb design, but with an upgrade for some extra performance. As soon as I get a couple of them completed I will post pictures.

As you can see I own 2 different Zipper SXT's. By far my favorite bows !! The grip fits my hand like a glove. They are very quick, and whisper quiet, and just plain shoot great !!! Plus you would have to look very hard to find any better people than Bill and Tracy Dunn. :clapper:
Bill
I currently own 3 Zippers. A standard riser,a SXT, and a ZSR. The Standard 60",was my first and a real plain jane, but sooo smooth and quiet. I kept it and now have it carbon film dipped and use it for bowfishing. I could take the bowfishing gear off today and be very happy with how it shoots. The SXT 60", has Evolution limbs with carbon/foam. Again, beautiful bow, smooth, quiet and fast. My favorite off all is my ZSR 58" with Evolution limbs and the Accelerator limb wedges. Prettiest of the 3 and a more custom grip. A new Zipper "Hunter" model must be about as good as it gets for a few less bucks! Plus, and not to be understated, Bill and Tracy are the finest peple to deal with.
Attached are photos of my 2nd Zipper SXT. Bow is now a month old and is by far the best longbow I've owned. This bow is super quiet with no felt vibration at all in my hand. 58# @ 28" 64" Carbon & Foam longbow limbs. Riser is Kingwood & Tulipwood with Curly Maple accents/striping. Limbs are Kingwood & Carbon. Thanks Bill & Tracy for a great product.

i have a sxt its great
I have a SXT recurve. It is a work of art and is loaded with performance. Bill and Tracy are awesome people to do business with!!!!!!!

I have specs and wood combos on a page beside me right now. Price is up there, but the results are there to go with it apparently. One thing I've found is that it's hard for the pictures to do the real thing justice. Therefore they must be wondrous to hold. And to shoot. I love the matching quiver.
Big fight with myself vs a TallTines, but it's basically a coin toss there.
Really just have to figure out the money...
I have an original Bob Thompson Zipper. I like it, very quiet.

I have an SXT with evolution recurve limbs carbon foam core. There are very few bows I have owned in the same lbs that could even come close to the performance of it. The grip is very comfortable as well.
Great product from the fellas at Zipper!~
Very good bows.BILL AND TRACY ARE THE BEST TO TALK TO ABOUT CUSTOM BUILDING YOUR BOW...PLACE YOUR ORDER

Love that osage riser.
Guys,
thanks for all the pictures and info on Zipper bows!!
I just thought I would let everyone know That I placed my order with Bill today. He was very, very helpful and took a lot of time explaining everything about Zipper bows. I will post pics of it when it gets here in May.....It's going to be a long wait, But it is going to be well worth it!!!
Congrats Charlie!! I don't think you will be dissapointed!
Can't wait to hear from you when you get it and what you think of it.
Jake
Maybe then you will trade me for the Sanders :D
Been shooting a standard since 1988- also the new short-risered extreme by Bill- you cannot go wrong with their bows
My standard riser of curly maple and shedua is just a perfect weight to carry all day after elk or Ina stand after Whitetails
They're quiet stable and the service before and after the sale puts them in the "elite" class for me!!!
Guys, I am excited!
Jake,
You know me, I may be begging you to take my Sanders or anything else I have anytime.
I have a Zipper standard made in 1998. Got it used at Denton Hill. I now have an extra set of longbow limbs , both are the same poundage. It has become my travel hunting bow. One case and riser ,2 sets of limbs at the same weight, a real nice set up. Oh, I forgot ....they shoot and look good also!!
Chris K, that IS a nice collection of Zippers and a great Buck!!! Congrats!
Where did the buck come from? I would like to hear that hunting story :campfire:
I first shot a Zipper at a Traditional event they use to have in St. Clairsville, Ohio. After only one shot I knew I had to have. I ended up buying a used on one here because I was getting married and didnt have much money laying around. I will eventually order another one from Bill. They are great bows. I am always shooting other peoples bows just to see how they compare to my Zipper, and havent found one yet that does.
Chris you are right on as usual...

I think my next big purchase is a set of new evolution recurvr limbs for my STX,I can just imagine how they would shoot!
Steve,
Bill says that the Evolution limbs are fast and smooth!
Gen273,
Here is the link to my story about that buck.
http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=066182#000000
Norb,
I never get tired of looking at those pictures of yours. All those shots are great. You going on any hunts this spring or next fall? You need to pack up and head east and join us for another black bear hunt. Quebec thats only a few hours from you right?
;)
Man,I am sure enjoying all the pictures.Maybe tomarrow I can talk Tracy into posting some of our critters too.Now its time to reread that story. Thanks for the link Chris.
Bill
Bill,Check your emails !lol
Chris,
Thanks for the story, it was great!!!
So I guess you are real happy with your Zipper?
Does every Zipper come with a big buck like that?.....LOL
Charlie
If you guys think the Classic limbs are great, wait until you try a set of Evolution limbs. :notworthy:
Bill
Bill, when will your web site be updated with the Ilf risers and limbs. I want to place a order but I might have to wait to see what your ILF risers and limbs look like. thanks
Tracy usualy updates the website before we go to Kzoo.I have about 10 stock bows for Kzoo that are 2/3 done.I also have 2 (13")ILF SXT's,3 (15")ILF Extreme,2(15")ILF Standard risers.I have 2 sets of ILF carbon and foam Evo.limbs.One set will make a 58" bow (Mekassar Ebony arrow inlay),on a 13" the other a 60" on a 13.When the finish work is done I will properly introduce them to Tradgang.
I will have all of these bows at Kzoo.for folks to play with.
Bill
Chris,
Right now I have ZERO hunts planned. Fill me in! I could manage to get to MO for a deer hunt in the fall :readit:
I smell a hunt in the works!
Beachy I am going to be spraying the final coats of finish on your limbs to night.
Bill
Norb,
Heck ya we could make that happen. Need to have Bill come over while he is at it.
My brother has been seeing (noticed I didn't say shooting) some really good bucks down at his place. All the land I hunt on up here in NW MO is through friends or family but we could probably put something in the works. I just saw 15 deer on Mark Harris' place on Jan 8th. Remember your chainsaw snoring roommate from the TX Sweat III, thats him.
Chris
Thanks for the update Bill. I guess the Kids' college fund can wait another year.
Chris, I'm game. Keep me in mind as the year progresses!
Guys you aren't fair, this thread is addicting and my SXT feels lonely, so I am on Bill list for a twin bow.
You guys have cost Felix some money. It was more then he could take.I think its a consperacy,Felix.
Norbert,I just got through spraying your limbs again.Im not sure, but they may need sanded and resprayed.
Chris, that sounds like a great time to me.Even if Norbert is gonna be there. :D Remember Norbert I owe you one.

Bill, are you going to be at the Columbus Expo this year?
Joe
Bill, you are such a sell out....I can't believe you hired one of those hunting supermodels to be on your ProStaff...that's probably why you missed on the final spray coat on my limbs... :saywhat:
gotta love them zippers
Bill,
Those are some great Pics!
By the way, Did I understand you to say that you guarantee a big Pope and Young with every new Zipper sold?..............It sounds like a great promotion to me....... :biglaugh:
HUMMM Maybe I wont need to resand those limbs after all.The runs will be plenty good enough for our buddy beachy. :D What say you?
The supermodel is to counter act all the ugly in those pictures. You know checks and balances,or beauty and the beast if you prefer. :goldtooth:
Charlie why would be guarantee you a Pope and Young when there are Boone and Crockets in them there woods?Did you notice how I slipped right around your question without saying no I cant guarantee you a big buck. Those snake oil salesman classes are starting to pay off. :biglaugh: Sorry Charlie, cant make that guarantee.
(http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c390/swamper1/100_1370.jpg) best bow I have ever shot in over 40 years of bow hunting with recurves

Swamper,

Bill your are starting to sound like a snake oil salesman, can't wait to see your Ilf set up.
Larry, thats the comparison I was trying to think of.I do hope everyone knows I was kidding.
Bill
I will be putting up some pictures in a week or so of our ILF offerings.
Bill, Shouldn't you be working?
:D
Ok, Ok, back to the shop I go.I just stoped for a ham sandwich.I'll be good from now on. :D

Thanks.
That's just pretty, Bill does nice work!
Bill,
Will your ILF riser be in a short SXT? If so, you might have hard time moving me out of your booth at Denton this year :) Doc
 You bet Doc!That is my favorite riser.
What is the advantage of an ILF bow?

I just found out this week that Ill be getting 2 more Zippers. They,ll complete my collection.
How big is your collection?
I sold one Zipper to my Cuz with the understanding that its mine again when he tires of it (probably never). I have one left right now that was my first trad bow and killed my first trad deer with. So,,, 3 Zippers and Ill be real happy. (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/IMG_0709.jpg) (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/IMG_1325.jpg) (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/IzzyNoahRabbit.jpg) Theyve served me well.
Izzy, I hope you don't want your long bow bow limbs back....cause you ain't getting them!!! :goldtooth:
I've never seen a Zipper with the riser wood lay up like Izzy's riser! I like it, and I love some of the curly maple Zipper uses! Especially the curly maple arrow inlay limbs. Sweet bows guys
Beautiful bow.
Izzy,
Congrats on adding to your collection.
And everyone keep the pics of Zippers coming.
Ron, I bet I can get em when I want. Ive got some bait set aside already. The reason I sold them is as I told you " A Three Piece Longbow Is A Three Piece Recurve With Straight Limbs".
My zipper will be here in may
I'm waiting on his ilf.
I orderd a SXT with carbon and foam evolution limbs. I am sure that it will be worth the wait.
Grinch,
when you get yours will you post some pics?

Bill
OK Bill, You got my attention. Now how do I try one of those on some SC hogs  Doc
After Kzoo,I will send one around for folks to play with.
Bill, YOU ARE KILLING ME!!!!! :bigsmyl:
Bill,
I'd love to be on the play list
Jamie
Hey Bill! Dang they just get prettier...
I want one when can we order one, and whats the cost? I was wondering what the two holes are for in the top and bottom of the riser, they look like pins to me. Just curious The middle one is awesome looking whats the wood combe in that one? thanks
Very very nice!!
The middle riser is my SXT riser. It is not ILF.I just needed something to hold the other 2 risers up so the ILF fittings could be seen.My SXT is Zebrawood and Cocobolo with Mekassar Ebony stripes.
The ILF version of our risers will be a $40 upgrade.I am realy excited about these ILF risers.I will also have the ILF version of our standard(15) and Extreme(15) risers at Kalalmazoo.I am also considering on offering a 17" version of the Extreme riser.
Bill
Do we have to give it back. :bigsmyl:
Hey Bill!
I'm really looking forward to seeing that new base model "workin' man's bow" you're developing.
Hope some pics are forthcoming!
Fill us in!
