Title: anyone tune a bow to the wrong arrow
Post by: stevewills on January 06, 2011, 07:37:00 PM
well got my ilf all set up and want to shoot a larger shaft so i went to the indoor target range and put up a 5 spot and grabbed a handful of telephone poles of different sizes.well i was suprised that a 2512 with a 100 grains up front paper tuned out of my 40 lbs.bow..granted i am using a aae freeflight rest and i adjusted it very little to shoot this arrow.for indoors i wanted a big ol nasty heavy arrow and i think i found it...

I always tune my bow to shoot the arrow I want, within reason. I shoot 45lb and under and you might want to try a skinny shaft and heavier point weight If you are going to hunt with it. the fat boys are great for cutting a line on a 3d target, but I speak from a bunch of experience that I get alot better penetration from skinny with hevier front weight. good luck .
