I was wondering if any of you guys are using SBD bow strings, and what you think of them. Thanks for the info!!
I do, fantastic strings, well made and great people to work with.
I have been using them for a while now have maybe a dozen. Overall one of the best bow strings I have tried.
I have them on two of my bows and they are good strings.
I just got two from him. Well made and great service.
Do they really seem Quieter and faster than other strings? I am thinking of trying some of them,
I have two and will be ordering one for my new bow when it arrives sometime this month, I think there great and there customer service is great.
I just recently received one for one of my longbows. Excellent string, and excellent service.
Jeff
Yes quiet and plenty fast.
GREAT strings and service. I have 4 and just bought another one from Tim at Braveheart recently!
I use them
Great strings
Excellent service
If you don't; you should!
Great strings and even better guys! They'll make you what you want and provide great service doing so. We also stock both their recurve and longbow strings for those who don't want to wait to have one built.
SBD strings at Braveheart Archery (http://www.braveheartarchery.us/new_page_6.htm)
Very well made, I use them on all my bows.
   The best!
Use em, and love em.
Almost all 25 bows have them,Got 5 for Christmas. The best.
The best ultra skinny strings I've used, bar none. Cost a bit more, but worth it in my opinion. I'm fanatical about nock fit and they get it right.
Have them on all my bows. Great strings and great service.
Have one on my Mohawk. Well made and looks great. Bow shoots awesome with it, quite and fast.
they make my Black widow whisper quiet... that's not easy.
I use them and I think I need some more.
what are the advantages? Is this string what comes on the morrison bows?
I have one on my former longbow and the difference was HUGHE! If SBD is much faster depends on how many strands you come from. My old string was 16 strands and SBD's skinny one is 6 strings so the difference was amazing. Very fast, very quite, very nice people to work with and the strings last long.
My new longbow came with a 10 strands string, I think I will replace it in summer for a SBD too.
Looks like I am going to order two.
I have them on my Morrison Shawnee, and my Shafer TD longbow, and I love them. Fast, quiet, and don't stretch much. Good people to deal with.
I do. They are the best. Have another on the way now.
I have them on all of my bows. Great strings and great people. You can't beat SBD !
I have Silent But Deadly (SBD) strings on my 4 bows as well as my sons 2 bows. I have watched Pierre and JP make the strings. The process is carried out with the up-most precission and care. There is a noticable performance increase.
They make every string as if it was for their own personel bow.
I talked to John McCullough yesterday and he recommended them for his bows.
I have one on the way with yarn silencers & wraps installed for one of my recurves. (This oughta quiet it down. It's a noisy cuss.) Great strings, great people!
Keith
thanks for the info,I'll give them a try!!!
They are outstanding.
Great string and very helpful folks working out that perfect length string
Great string and very helpful folks working out that perfect length string
I love them , really felt how my bow got ultra silent and got a little more speed
I bought a couple of used Morrison bows this year from the classified adds. The one needed a string badly. I ordered some pre made factory strings. They shot well enough for a while but once they started stretching they never seem to stop. I called Bob Morrison and asked about strings. Bob told me that I needed to put a real string on them. I asked what he thought about SBD? He simply replied those are real strings. Enough said for me.
My new Morrison showed up with one!
You guys have convinced me. Going to try one on my Blacktail recurve.
I tried one this year. The reduction in noise was substantial.
I enjoyed discussing what string to put on my pronghorn with SBD. He took the time to discuss it with me and the string was the exact length I requested.
Gary
I put one on my lost creek longbow and as quiet as it was it made it even more so. As stated they are a good co. to deal with.
Great strings, excellent customer service
Love the strings and the craftmanship and customer service is top notch. Just ordered another on for a Dale Dye bow.
The one I have on my Dreamcatcher made it considerably quieter. Good service too!
Have one on my predator and love it. Getting ready to order a spare.
I Do! :archer: :clapper:
Fantastic product, I've owned two of them. Quiet, well made and fast. Two thumbs up.
They are ok I guess, but not perfect. They do have a flaw. They are too popular, and I now have to wait longer to get them.
They are all I use. I get a new bow and it gets and SBD string. I trade or sell the bow, and I keep the string.
I have been using the SBD strings for a while now. I love them. Great service
Are they flemish or endless loop?
Great strings, all my bows have them on.
they're the only string I use on all of my bows. Great product and even better folks to deal with!
i do and i love it they are so so Quiet in fact i have two of them my Buddy Randy sent me another as a Back up. thanks Bro
Ordered a stock SBD longbow string and a recurve string from Tim at Braveheart Archery. Had them in the mail in two days  Great service from Tim and Pierre makes a superb string. Put one on the loudest Widow I have with two tiny string leeches and now it's nothing but a dull Thhhmmmmppp. Couldn't be happier. I'll be ordering plenty more and probably won't shoot anything but these strings on all my bows in the future :) :) :)
Well mad strings, but I din't find the quiet factor I was expecting. I was probably doing something wrong, I switched back to my old stuff.
Yesterday I ordered a string from SBD for my Blacktail recurve. Looking forward to giving it a try.
Got mine last week, I was amazed how thin they are after shooting 16 strand d97.
Shot some arrows through her today, My wide 2 blades were hitting 5" right of my field points indicating weak, so definately picked up a little extra performance. Need to tweak a little.
Well impressed, thanks SBD.
Great folks and great strings!!!
Pierre's strings are tremendous!!! I won't trust my bows to any other going forward.
I've got four and think they are terrific!
I have several and I think they are very well made....

Ditto Igor!
Another thumbs up here!
I do
Woke my bow up. I like'em!

Best strings that I have used. Fast and quiet. Worth the money but do not order the string silencers.... you will be better off putting on your own once you have the string
Talked me into it. Just ordered one from Braveheart (and a couple other things while I was there...) Thanks for the tip!
I use and love their look and performance. I have 12 currently. Really like the colors that Pierre has available. Just the best last string you will need to buy. Great service.
I have one on both my recurves. I haven't head a problem with their silencers either. Great string!
Do not hesitate to buy an SBD string!
Be prepared to:
Move up in arrow spine
Shoot a heavier arrow at the same speed you currently shoot
enjoy a much quieter bow
Quit worrying about string stretch, cause these dont.
You called 'em yet.....?
I have two. Had to increase my spine from 2117 to 2219. I got the recurve silencer wraps and it did quiet my bow quite a bit. Coupled with my string silencers it made my recurve just as quiet as my longbows.
Have one on my longbow and one on my recurve. Best strings, with the most noticeable performance increase, that I've ever used. No going back after an SBD!
I proudly use SBD strings.
I do - great customer service. Quiet and fast - recurve wraps and yarn puffs really quiet the string!
Pierre and SBD Bowstrings has my business for life!
They produce a superb, high quality custom-made product which has exceeded all my expectations for performance, consistency, longevity and craftsmanship. As I replaced the originally provided strings on some notable high-end longbows, there was always a substantial improvement in speed and shoot-ability. In one case, the same bow picked up 8 fps in addition to being noticeably quieter.
Arrow spine needs to marginally increase with the addition of the 6 or 8 strnad strings, but it certainly is worth it.
SBD stands behind their product completely, and their customer service is second to none. Pierre and family are kind and dedicated craftsmen and the kind of people I want to support. This is why I say that their strings are now on, and will remain on, every bow I own.
Mark
Me and I like em
I have two on my bows and they are good looking strings and they do pack a wallop. John Mc Cullough (Griffin Bows) advised me to call Pierre to order strings for some of my other longbows. I called and left a message and no one has called me back after approximately three weeks. That has made me have second thoughts about their service. I have seen all the great comments on here about their service. I guess this one fell through the cracfks!

It must have, Pierre will go way above and beyond to take care of customers. I think the "S" in SBD really stands for service. :D
We also stock SBD strings that are ready for immediate shipment if you should need one in a hurry.
10 out of 10 for me!!!
Thanks everyone...it is greatly appreciated.
Thomas, sent you a PM, my friend. Just didn"t get your message. :dunno:
God Bless, Pierre and Jean-Pierre

Pierre:
The reason that I could not reach you was that your business card had 724-323-2107 listed as the contact number. I had called there and left messages. Today I called and a real person answered and told me that I had the wrong telephone number. I have sent you a private e mail with my telephone number. Please accept my apology for the error. I thought that I had reached your business number. Tom
Well Tom, we have a mystery to solve because that is the correct phone number...724-323-2107.
I have to figure out who is answering my phone now...
God Bless, Pierre
Just got mine, after reading all the comments, cant wait to try them.
Never really liked the idea of the skinny string thing. But, I ordered one from SBD to try for my dwyer longbow. The nock fit was perfect and really worked and LASTED. Probably ALL I will shoot now. BILL
I do, and come to think of it, I need a couple more.
I just ordered a bunch. Pierre's customer service is the best.
Hey Shane I see that Cascade was added to your list hope you like it and shoot it as well as your others. After reading all these wonderful reviews how could we order anything else?
Pierre
I am glad that we finally got to talk today. As you stated the business card does have the correct number. Pierre's telephone number is 724-323-2107 for anyone that is looking for great bowstrings. I will be ordering at least two strings tomorrow!
Tom
Very well made, I use them on all my bows.
Utilize them on all of my bows.
 All I use!
Tried one and I couldn't get it to stop stretching, and continueing to wind it up when it was that skinny got to be too much.
Im use them on all of my FF bows. Great customer service too.
Just received a 6 strand Ultra for my longbow...very nice. Center serving was a little too snug on my Classic nocks. Pierre had me send it back and he fixed it right up...perfect fit! Great string...Great service!!!
Lots of good info here. For years I've made my own strings, but with carbon arrows, all the new string materials and such, getting good nock fit has become a hassle. I've been considering getting some custom made strings, and this thread is pushing me even more so in that direction.
One question I have is the durability of the SBD strings. Will they last for years and years of daily shooting like my "old" ones do?
Is having so few strands in the string a liability when it comes to durability?
Thanks.
Kevin
High quality product with service second to none!
I do.
on all my bows !!!

Kevin,
I don't think you have to worry at all about the durability of SBD strings regardless of strand count. I've been shooting 6 strand D-97 strings for years on my longbow without any wear whatsoever. I expect nothing less from my new SBD 6 strand D-10 string. Of course you need to watch nicking your string with a sharp broadhead etc. If you havn't shot a "skinny" string before I think you'll like the performance and quiteness they provide for most bows. Best of Luck!

Thanks for the detailed opinion, Butchie. You're the second person today who has told me basically the same thing. I do believe I am talked in to giving SBD strings a try!
Best string out there, bar none. Only string I use on all of my bows that take modern strings.
I also sing the praises for SBD. :)
I use both the 6 and 8 strand SBD bowstrings. Use them on the recurves and a longbow. I like them well enough that is all I use.
I just started shooting a new SBD 8 strand. It is a well made string, seems significantly quieter on my longbow.
Pierre is very helpful on the phone. Can't wait to get mine...john
I had the pleasure of camping next to Pierre and his group at Denton Hill some weeks ago. You won't find a finer bunch of fellas anywhere.
Pierre's son had taken a huge Black Bear and I was invited to share some Bear Burgers with them. It was my first taste of Bear and it was excellent!
It turns out Pierre is a fan of short bows and I had just scored a Little Suckling from the classifieds. I didn't have the bow with me as the string was not very good. Pierre assured me he could take care of that!
When I got back from Denton I sent him the specs. This little bow is a 44" T/D so it doesn't exactly take a common string. Well, he nailed it and I received a couple strings that are perfect! The performance of the bow was increased so much it's hard to tell it's the same bow. I'm very happy.
Thanks Pierre for your excellent strings and going the extra to make these rare length strings for me. :clapper:
:clapper: SBD!
Highly recommend. I have them on two Morrison bows and intend to try on my thunderheart, blacktail, black widow and jeffreys.
Should have my first in just a bit, anxious to try it on my Widow.
Eric
In the mean time I got two fast Hybrid longbows and I equipped them with SBD strings. Boy, they really smoke an arrow now! Both above the 200 fps at 9 GPP!
