So do you prefer the fall, early winter, or late winter for a camp/hunt.
I like the Sept. time frame here as the late season is usually to rainy. I can deal with cold but, can't stand for everything to be wet.
When I lived in Jersey, It would've been late Fall. Now I'm back in Tejas, When ever it's not to Hot and humid.
I'll be heading to Sam Houston National Forest here in a few weeks to do some scouting for Deer and Hogs. When I find some good spots I'll be going there in March/April to camp and Hog hunt.
Then back there again to Camp and Deer hunt in November/December/January. (Can only camp for 14 days a Month that will be 3 hunt/camping trips 2011)
January 1 to December 31 is my favorite.
The rest of the time is good too. :)
I don't like it when it is too hot. The rest of the year is great!
Mid October thru the first of December.
All year.
Texas is hot most of the time. Winter has always been my favorite season & time to hunt & camp.
I love camping all year but prefer the fall/wintertime. I was just telling my wife that I much prefer camping in the winter because then I feel like I really need that campfire or woodstove. In the summer it's really just for show.
I prefer to hunt whenever there is an open season!
I like to find something to hunt all year round. However here in Ohio my favorite is October and November.
I camp entire month of Sept. for Elk hunting...June & July in the National Parks. Rest of the year on-off while hunting, fishing and travel. By the I'm a TENT man, and love every minute of it!
Anytime I hunt all year round love it have good gear is a must.
October is my favorite month, leaves falling and the smell of autumn in the air. No bugs and temps cooling down.
Also october preferably for me but any camping at any time two.
Since I live in Texas where it gets hot early and stays hot late, when I camp, it's in April and in October.
I hunt all year around, but it depends on the temperature.
Anytime it's not too hot.I've always loved camping, especially when hunting.
September in the high country with the Elk.
I love camping and hunting most when it's too cold for the bugs and snakes to move much. Especially love, as IC said, September in the high country. God surely dresses up the high country in the fall!
All depends on where I'm at. I like to camp and/or hunt year round. Mountains in the summer/early fall. Midwest Oct-Nov. Texas or southern states in winter-spring. But I'm flexible, and it's all good.
I'm camping and hunting in New Mexico right now. Had some single digit temps bwith high winds, but we did fine. Now if the deer would just cooperate......
Whenever it gets cool enough your are not sweating.

Where 'bouts are ya?
I really like Sept... chasing Mulies on the "East Side" and Elk on the Coast.... usually very wet later, as in our Late Mid Nov thru mid Dec. late archery season... I can deal with it, but really enjoy those Sept. hunts...

Any day hunting is better than a day working...or something like that. But if I could pick a time of year it would be in Sept./Oct. There is something about hunting elk in the high country that time of year that gets my juices flowing. Love the crisp mornings, warm days and cool nights and the changing colors.
I love to camp anytime I can get out there but Spring turkey camp and fall elk camp are defenitly my favorite :D And when it's shared with a few tradgangers it makes it just that much better.
A few spring picks, Turkeys, mushrooms, shed antlers love it in the spring :D

Great pictures !!!
I love the fall :)
Last week of October till the start of the rifle season which is just before Thanksgiving, the deer are in full rut from around the 2nd of November up till rifle season in my area and it is a blast to watch the deer during breeding season.
By the way, awesome pics guys, I'm gonna have to do a little turkey hunting this spring, those are some beautiful Tom's! And of coarse the Mt pics and Elk speak for themselves!
All year. Most of the hunting camps are between August and the end of September.
WOW!Those pics are awesome!I love camping any time, but especially during hunting seasons in MI or CO,the only two states I've hunted so far...come on turkey season!
