Title: Epic and Axis jr. no spine or Gpi What the--?
Post by: yamapup on January 03, 2011, 07:47:00 AM
while looking for some inexpensive carbon arrows for a lightweight, 39# @25 in, longbow, I came across these two arrows in Lancaster's catalog. They don't list a spine number and only say 45# max for the Epic and 40# max for the Axis. The arrows have a max length of 28 inches. I couldn't grasp why no spine was listed, so I called Easton and the tech I talked to, said yes there is no spine for these arrows. I pointed out that for someone shooting a recurve or longbow, the lack of spine is confusing and saying 45 or 40 max is meaningless. I asked if these were arrows for a compound bow and she said yes! She also said that no grains per inch or straightness is listed. I now have no way of knowing what to fill in on Stu's calculator. none of this makes sense.Pup

Almost sound like some youth arrows I bought at gander Mountain. Only thing on the box was a warning. NOT TO EXCEED 35#.  I did not bother with Stu's calculator.  Took the 25# recurve and tuned the bow to the arrows.

Good Luck.

Suspicions confirmed!   I've said all along that carbon arrows don't have spine... just attitude!    :o )

I still think easton could list a pine even if at 26 inches. Pup
