I am shooting a howard hill wesley special that is 68" and 50#@30". I am having difficulty with finding arrows that shoot straight off this bow. If anyone knows about arrows and spines that may work that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
What have you triied so far?
I have tried the carbon express heritage 250s and they kick to the left. Im not sure if the 150's will fly right
Try carbin express 350 the 250's are way to stiff for a 50lb'er.
I am shooting the crexp at 350 grains\\ 31 inchs\\ with a 200 grain field piont for a total of 550 grains. These are shooting like darts out of both my bear 50# and my GP Blackhawk
if the 250s are to stiff the 350s will be worse
What is your draw length? Howard Hill bows usally will shoot a slightly weaker spine. On my HH Half Breed is 58#@28,I draw 27" so it is close to 55# for me.I shoot CE Heritage 90 with a custom made brass insert and 175 gr. points which give me around a 540 gr. arrow with the proper spine.A CE 250 is way too stiff and 150 maybe too stiff, depending on your draw length.
Sorry earlier went to look at my spec sheet for car. exp. the 250's are weaker then the 350's.
Walk up to about 5 feet from your target and shoot 3 arrows into it. Asuming that you are a right handed shooter IF THE KNOCK end is to your right the arrow is to stiff; if to your left they are to weak.
I am lekt handed so I have to try to rememmer all this back wards
Need to know what draw lg. what length arrows?
The CX 250's are probably a little stiff I think they spine around .370. If you draw the full 30" or more it somewhat limits you with carbons because of shaft length but you could try GT 5575 they spine at .400 and I can tune those out of my D-shaped longbow which is 57@31 and I draw to nearly 31". Good luck...Shawn
Try wood! What type of rest and plate is on it? I found that my Hill shoots a heavier spine (by 10-15) better, that is in wood though with a leather rest and plate.I tried carbon and aluminum and they just don't shoot good for me.JMHO
