I just picked up a used but in mint condition BW PSAX "Tulipwood" recurve. To say this bow exceeded my expectations is putting it mildly. I love the way the bow looks, weight of the bow, smooth draw, silent thump, Asbell grip, and I really love the way this bow works with me to send the arrow on the mark.
I'll post pix soon. It's a bow like this that makes me shiver when I hear people call BW's, plywood bows.
It's also a bow like this that seriously makes me ignore all of me others. Well at least for the short time.

BW sells a lot of "plywood bows". Guess there is a reason. Good for you and good hunting.

Tulipwood and olive ash are my favorite.Hope you'll enjoy!

Lets hear it for "plywood" bows.....
Mine seem to be OK....
-
Can't wait to see the pics. Also, what are the specs?
-
Always pleased to hear that someone has found a bow that fits them and meets or even exceeds their expectations. That's the objective.
Congrats!!!!!!!!
-
Someone paid extra to not have plywood :) . I really like tulipwood.
-
Congers on the bow.I have two widders and love them.
If BW are called plywood bows, then the only real bows are the self bows.
-
Nice.

Love Widows,Can't wait to see yours, all the best with her.

Most accurate and pleasurable bow I've ever shot was my MAV - really really really wish I didn't sell that one :banghead: feel free to send it back to me if you have the one with my name on it.

BWs often do exceed expectation!

Gotta love that plywood!! Geeze...I have not heard that one for years! :saywhat:
I have owned two BWs - MA,SA..and liked them a lot. I guess if I think about it, I have never owned or shot anything other than laminated.

The best thing about this bow is that it is 56" and feels like a 60"
-
Great looking bow,cograts.
-
Beautiful bow, congratulations.
-
Now let's see those turkeys try and tip toe thru the tulips.
-
That was my thought exactly

Can't go wrong with a B.W.

Peter, I don't know if that "plywood" will hold up on THE island. Don't carry that thing down the street in Merrick or Massapequa (sp)
And fo Gods sake don't take it to Fire Island...
Its too pretty... if ya know what I mean.
Great bow. Here is a slogan I gave the guys at Nixa last week:
"When you hear the Widow whisper, its too late" or something like that.
-
Hooray for plywood!!
Longstick and Big Ed those are both beautiful bows! Awesome.
-
Now come on fellas, lets be true, the "Plywood Bows" are their "Base Models" ... Someone paid much more for "that" one ... Good Luck with her ...
-
Not only do they look good I find they shoot even better, something about a Widow.
-
I am a widow man as well!!! Congrats on a nice bow!!!
-
Big congrats friend!!! That's a fine specimen there! That Tulipwood has a nice "fiery" look to it to me. Love it. :clapper:
Just added another Widow to the stable the other day. Picked up a PERFECT SA X Osage. Must be of the earlier X bows with the Tri color tips like the grey arks and autumn oaks.

They are all plywood; just different species of wood and stains. I wish they offered an option for a one piece wood handle, maybe with just one piece of glass reinforcement. My guess is they need to laminate all that wood, phenolic and glass to get to that 3/16" past center riser cut without risking broken risers on higher weight bows.
All in all, they are a decent looking bow that shoots very well and is a close to bombproof as anything gets.
