Ok just to make sure this was a trad kill.  Is it a stick shift?

I'm glad she is ok.  I've never hit a deer with a car even though I lived on 2 of the worst 3, 1-mile sections of road in MO for road kills from 1992-1995. However, I adminisitered the coup de grace for many dozens over that span of time that others hit. It is a very traumatic experience for some folks, especially nonhunters--even policemen!

The spot was the highway running through the August Busch Wildlife Area in ST. Charles, MO>

My hubby got a nice 8 point last year.  Hit the side of truck so hard that he droped both antlers on the road.  Then he ran off.  The rack looks nice sitting on a beam in my house.  Too bad the truck did not fair as well as the rack.

My wife hit a big buck a few years ago with a new car with 700 miles on it. $1500 in damage but she was OK. The buck ran off and we never did find him.

Magnus,
I had to reread your post.

I thought I read: "I was in my girlfriends car. My wife wasn't hurt!"  Yikes!...then I reread it.

My wife doesn't hunt but in November she got her second deer in ten years with a vehicle.  Both times the deer ran into side of car as she was driving down the road.   :dunno:

A family friend is the animal officer for a town here in Mass,,,, he has 12 HUGE bucks doing a 1/2 circle across his entire living room wall that where all hit by cars at night!

he said he has 40-50 more that didn't make the wall.
