Does anyone know any trad archery shops in central,il
what town are you in
trad archery shops are rare most seem to be geared toward the wheelie crowd if your ever in colorado check out rocky mountain specialty gear they are a sponser here and tom and the guys are awesome
Close to springfield.
Im in champaign and dont know of any.
Scott,
I am in Chatham and am not aware of traditional only shops in area. Not sure what you are looking for, but Rick Stillman of "The Feathered Shaft" (Tradgang sponsor)is in Rochester.
Yes i talked to him briefly. I will send him a pm and see if he can help. Thanks.
Mike Horton of the Nocking Point in Winchester Ks. is a great guy to deal with. He mails stuff quick and only charges actual shipping. His phone # is 913-774-7172.
Scott,
let me know if I can help also. I agree with Cocklebur about the Nocking Point. I have also had good interaction with Kustom King.
What are ya looking for?????
I'm looking for a Entry level recurve t/d 40-45#.
A long bow wouldn't be out of the question either.
Joe and becky use to own and run lone wolf traditional shop in st. joseph illinois, but they retired
OK... Have ya checked the "for sale" stuff on here? Is this bow for an adult with experience, entry level or a junior shooter? How much do you want to spend....
Post all that and look at the adds. Several sponsors sell less expensive bows for intro level stuff.
Check out Lost Nation Archery. They are sponsors here and nice people. I bought a used bow from them a few years ago and they got it to me fast.
It would be for me, an adult."my wife would disagree" I was hoping to try something out before I buy. Being new I don't know what I want.

Check out the classified section on this site. Plenty of bows to choose from, or wait till the last weekend of January, and come to the Kalamazoo Expo held in the South West corner of Michigan. It's well worth the drive.
First, it makes sense to establish some basic body data. This is your height and especially your potential draw length. Then the purpose of the bow (target, hunting, both) and establish an overall max. budget.
This should cover all things necessary:
bow
arrows
glove/tab
bracer
eventually a quiver
What do you prefer when it comes to mass weight in your hand? etc.
Bellville Il Town hall archery has traditional equipment.
2nd town hall, good guys and they know what they are doing with traditional equipment.
Yea, Town Hall in Bellville. Do map quest and take a drive. Should be about 3 hrs. They are great and have a nice indoor range.
If ya need something else PM me... always willing to help.
Thanks guys.
