See there is a list on the website for discounted hotels.  Anybody recommend one they stayed at.  Easy parking, clean rooms, breakfast, etc. Thanks.

Can't say, but you can look into nearby towns such as sturgis or battle creek.

I do travel the state quite a bit for work.  I have stayed at a lot of different places.  My personal favorite is the Fair Field Inns.  I have found them to all be well kept, comfortable, and reasonably priced.  I get free stays faster than anywhere.  I also think they have a very good deluxe continental breakfast that is well stocked.  Some locations have a small buffet dinner and warm cookies in the evening.  Some are exterior corridor and some are interior corridor.  I know there is one in town.  I am fairly sure it is just off Sprinkle road near 94 and only a few miles from the fair grounds.

Battle Creek is not to long a drive to get to the east side of town where the expo is located.  Also don't be afraid to stay on the west side of town near M-43/West Main or Stadium Dr. It is a fast trip down 131 and to the east side on 94.

For those who don't mind spending a little more the Radisson is downtown.  It is a little tricky to navigate due to the one way roads, but it is really not to far at all from the Expo.  It is a very nice place and down town area is nice I think.  I work right down town and spend a lot of time down there.  There are many good places to eat.  The Radisson has several very good restaurants and one that serves a very good breakfast buffet.  Unfortunately, it is under new management and not where near as excellent is it was with the many specialty breakfast items they used to have, but still good.
