Took my Beagle for a walk a few days ago and if i do say so myself he is turnning into a really nice rabbit dog. I grew up rabbit hunting over beagles with shotguns but over the last few years since I have found the sport of traditional archery I have killed quite a few with the bow and arrow. This particular day we, my brother and I shot four. Three with the smoke-pole and I got this one while he was running toward me at about fifteen yards with an Assenheimer recurve and Heritage 250s and a red feather small game head. Nice shooting on the rabbit. I just got a beagle pup and I'm looking forward to her running some rabbits next fall. I love watching em work a bunny.

O yes Oscar is his name and hes the most promising dog we have ever owned. It usually took 2 or 3 years for a dog to come around and really be able to trail a rabbit well but he's been going strong since six months old! This picture was when he wasn't quite a year old and we ran him on his first snowshoe hares two for two he went. Both rabbits ran around the mountain before turnning and coming straight back to use and Oscar was never far behind howling the entire way.

Great shooting. I have a hard enough time hittin'em with a shotgun. Couldn't imagine hitting one with an arrow!....Phil

Doesn't get much better than listening to a beagle run a rabbit. Good times.

He's a beauty. I grew up with a dog that looked a lot like him. Had a lot of good experience with him roaming the hills and fields of Ky and Tn. Take good care of him.

That looks like you had a lot of fun.

Got to love them beagles! I got a kennel full of blutick beagles and there ain't nothing better than watching them pound a bunny and fling arras at them everytime they circle.
Good times for sure.
