Hi All
I thought while i had the chance id post up some pics from this year, with very little internet access iv been out of contact for quite a while.
I look forward to catching up with all your adventures here on TG over the next few months.
This year has been flat out, alot of time spent in the bush guiding and a bit of hunting here and there for myself. As most know i like to get out and travel as much as i can as well.
Ill let the pics tell the story.
After getting back from the States at the beginning of the year i spent a couple weeks hitchhiking through Europe with my sister which was fun but its getting expensive out there.
After that it was off to Australia, to catch up with an old friend for some hunting, sharpen up the skills for the year to come.
Rory is a hardcore bowhunter and has spent so much time improving his skills and endless hours of time and patience helping new bowhunters start out right.
we had some great hunting and got to meet some good new friends.

Was great to spend time hunting hard with Rory, we have an Africa trip in the plans somewhere down the track.
After that it was time for some "work"
I say that lightly but most of you know Guiding work is Long Hard work. The first awake and the last to bed with all your focus and senses running at 100%
But its a wild lifestyle few get an opportunity at!
This was my first year Guiding for Trophy Bowhunts Australia and we had a great year.

good stuff Mate!
Are those eggs or fruit in your last picture?
Maybe a combination of each? ...lol
I've had a blast just trying to picture what kind of bird would leave her eggs on the ground scattered among fallen fruit.
Then I really confused myself by asking "why"?
I mean really, that's stupid!!! Those can't be eggs! or can it?
Thanks in advance!
God bless,Mudd

Those are fruit Mudd, the bowerbird is known for building these nests and decoration them with attractive things it collects in order to attract a mate.
You can find all sorts of brightly colored things in a nest, everything from Beatles shells, sea, shells, bones, fruit, stones etc.. And they get pretty upset if you disturb the layout.
Great stuff !!! Thanks for the pics n story :)
:campfire:
Thanks Guys its good to hear from all of you i hope you all had a great Christmas!
As i said the pig hunting was a little difficult this year with the early rains, which just scatters the pigs, however we still had great success.
Had a few close calls this year Mick had brown snake strike at his legs when we where up in the territory, i tried my best to Step on a big Brown Snake latter in the year up in the Cape that took some serious footwork.
Then right at the end of the season i had a wounded pig charge me which could have easily ended badly but i was able to fend it off even though i was knocked over in the first charge, once i got hold of its back legs, i killed it with my knife.
I was also treed by a massive scrub bull whilst recovering Marks Bull up in the NT, have a lot of respect for those wild scrub bulls, man some of them are angry.

Here's an ol 190 from Ron at KME really had great success with this head this year

Here's a cool pic of a Frilled-neck Lizzard or "frilled dragon" they are a pre-historic looking thing, we see quite a few up in the north, the spend most of there time up in tree's (Arboreal)
will open there frills out as a defense when threatened to make itself look bigger.
