I heard a song on the radio today.
It was about Fred Bear.
Whats up?
Jim
by ted nugent?
Probably Ted Nuggent. He recorded one some years ago. Fred was his mentor.
Keeping the Faith!

I would guess Ted Nugent as well. Thats the only Fred Bear song I know of.
If you Search "ted nugent fred bear" on YouTube you will find pages of it.
If it was on the radio it had to be Uncle Ted. Chad K. Slagle has a great song about Fred called "The Man in the Borsalino Hat". You won't hear it on the radio though.
Ted for sure. It's on my IPOD.
Go to the website grooveshark.com, you can find about any song that exsists. Don't think you can download unless your a member, but you can listen all day for free.
"There I was ....back in the wild again....
"I felt right at home....where I belong...
"And I had that feelin'....commin' over me again...
"Just like had happened so many times before....yeah!" :saywhat:
Great tune Uncle Ted...I thank him!
Not a Ted fan. But I do like that song.
Not a Ted fan either, besides the subject, don't like the song much either.
always liked that song, but then again i like that style of music, so....
one thing i think ol' Ted got right.
I've always loved this song from Ted about Fred.

It's a great song - they don't play it on the radio enough. Other great Nugent songs about hunting include 'My Bow and Arrow', 'Great White Buffalo', 'Call of the Wild', "Primitive Man', 'Spirit of the Wild', 'Tooth, Fang & Claw'. I'm sure there are others.
That song gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it.

I think I was lucky enough to hear that song at its first live public performance way back when Ted was a celeberty guest at the Louise Mandrell Celeberty shoot in Nashville.
He and I had been talking during the day about bow hunting, although this was a clays shoot, and he said he was going to do a special new song on stage for the banquet. Well that was the song. He gave a brief intro with a story about Fred and the impact he had on him (Ted). Then, just Ted on a steel srting acoustic. It was cool. When he got done almost everyone in the banquet hall rose to their feet...
I heard Ted introduce the song live on the radio in Detroit when he used to guest host a show on WLLZ. It was soon after Fred died and Ted explained how the song was written (or wrote it's self) and how he played it for Fred's wife and they all had a good cry. It was powerful stuff for me being 17 at the time.
