Title: Essential Encounters Pre-Release Sale
Post by: Gene Wensel on December 25, 2010, 02:14:00 PM: We are extremely proud to finally announce that our brand new feature length DVD "Essential Encounters....Primal Dreams II" has been sent to the replicator. It is now in their hands!

Expected delivery will be in late January. We thank you for your patience during this long, sometimes frustrating, but very rewarding project.

It has taken us five years of hard work but we feel safe in saying this thing is going to be very special. To say we are extremely proud of it would be an understatement. At well over two hours long, plus additional bonus footage and interviews, we feel this film is going to offer something for everyone.

If you liked "Primal Dreams", you will absolutely LOVE "Essential Encounters"! We made our statement with "Primal Dreams", and although everyone in it carried a bow and arrows, it was not a film about bowhunting, but more about why people hunt. This one IS about bowhunting!

It was filmed by, for, and about our passion. Fair chase hunting for all the right reasons, using simple tools.

No sponsors. No high fence hunts. It offers spiritual and historical significance, fun, real emotion and feeling. In short, we tried to produce this film with honor.

It offers a perfect balance and mix of heartfelt narration, philosophy, dialogs, moving music, humor, more shooting, instruction and tips, beautiful scenery, extremely rare broadcast quality wildlife footage, lots of tasteful arrow impacts, really big bucks, a ton of interaction with youngsters, and family participation at its finest.

This thing makes an entirely new statement about our love of the outdoors! In fact, we highly encourage people to order multiple copies, as many of you remember what happend when you loaned out your only copy of "Primal Dreams." We like to think you will very much want to share "Essential Encounters" with family and friends.

We can't begin to tell you how lucky we are to have David Mitten as our primary editor. His overtime in the editing room went way above and beyond the call of duty. His talents as a perfectionist really shine through in this venture.

The eight minute segment of Mark Mitten's bison kill with longbow and stone arrowhead is, in our opinion, the finest hunting clip ever filmed, and by itself well worth the "price of admission."

Here's the deal We are now accepting pre-release orders BY POSTAL MAIL ONLY until January 15, 2011 at $20 per copy POSTPAID. Checks should be made out to Brothers of the Bow. We will also accept Visa or Master Card. No phone orders please.

This new DVD will NOT be available through our website until January 15th. Orders will be shipped first class the day we get them in hand.

We would like to thank everyone for your time tested patience during our many trials and errors along the way. We know you will be very pleased with the results of our efforts. Thank you for being a part of our lives.

Although it's nearly impossible to please everyone, what we tried to do was improve our final product using feedback from fellow bowhunters telling us what they look for in a quality film about bowhunting. I realize this is a bit premature, but we'd like to ask for feedback on the production after you get to sit down and watch it. I think you'll find it different in that we tried not to promote people, places or things, yet attempted to draw the viewer into what we believe our sport is meant to be. At this time only a handful of our families and close friends have seen the final edit. After viewing two plus hours of the final edit five times now, I personally feel there is something to satisfy almost everyone. I believe true bowhunters will be proud of this one and will want to share it with family and friends. Happy New Year to all. Thanks. BW

I found myself repeatedly shaking my head in amazement at the footage of steam rising off a bull elk's back... gentle snow falling around a magnificent bull moose... and game both taken and walking free.

This is great, great stuff, and I look forward to seeing the completed Essential Encounters. Thanks, Wensels and Mittens, for all your incredible work.
