I'd like to personally thank all the donors, bidders, and winners in the auction, and all the folks that donated independently for their support of the family of Chris Surtees. And, for all that posted on various threads their condolences.
The Surtees family, friends and comrades have been monitoring Trad Gang since Chris' passing.
What a great gift you have all given to them all.
Thank you very much.
Won't be able have done it with Out You Terry...
+1 to that mysticguido. Thank you Terry for all the work you and others put in to make it possible to help out.

Keeping the Faith!
Magnus
Thank you for the opportunity
Thanks for letting us help.
:clapper: :clapper: Well done
For the many that didn't know, Terry climbed into his vehicle last Saturday morning before the crack of dawn to come down to Fort Benning, GA. He did this to help me and my family with some of the household and personal effects of Chris'. He stayed all day and left late that evening with Chris' RV/trailer, a canoe, and as much as his vehicle and the RV/trailer storage compartments would hold. He placed these items in his warehouse until I am ready to decide on disposition. Joining him here at Fort Benning was the Wilson family, Don, Tammy (his lovely wife), and Skyler.
I don't know how to thank Terry and the Wilson's for all that they did.
The funeral home delivered Chris' remains on Saturday afternoon while Terry and the Wilson's were here. I wanted to do this because Chris was so attached to this site, and it was good having Terry represent and be here on behalf of everyone from this wonderful site.
My son visited this site often as many of you have already posted -- this was his life -- to be near what he truly loved -- TRADITIONAL ARCHERY!
My hat's off to Terry and the Wilson's -- and to all the TGers for the warm posts, items donated, and the bidders themselves. My oldest grandson and my granddaughter have visited this site often, reading over and over what has transpired since my son's death. My wife also joined us to read the posts for as long as she could without breaking down. This outpoor from all is overwhelming. I just can't put into words what I want to say to all of you.
Terry, thank you once again for the many hours you have dedicated to me and my family for Chris! THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERY THING!
I've said it before but it never hurts to say something good more than once.
Terry, we don't just give you respect because this is basically your site, we give it because you've earned it my friend.
I've never had the pleasure of shaking your hand but I truly hope it happens some day.
You have my admiration and respect because you lead by example.
I have never been bashful when it comes to saying just how proud I am to be a part of such a wonderful group of folks that I call "My Trad Gang Family"!! I haven't changed my mind about how great they are and don't see that mind set changing any time soon.
Larry, you and your family have to be proud to have had such a fine son as to impact so many lives in such a positive manner.
Our prayers are continuing for healing, strength, extra peace for your hearts and minds.
May God wrap His loving arms around you allowing His assurance to fill you to overflowing.
God bless
Roy L "Mudd" Williams
VERY WELL SAID MUDD!!!
Terry, you are the Chairman of the Board.
Terry, thank you for your work in organizing all of this, and making it possible to get the donations to the Surtees family. I am also proud of my family here. A lot of big hearts here.
Kerry
In what is a very sad time for many here that knew , loved , hunted and corresponded with Chris either in person or via Tradgang , it is heartwarming to see everyone rally together.
I can only hope that his kids will see what an positive impact their Dad had on many people whether in service to his country or merely offering advice and encouragement to his fellow hunting archers.
So strange that I feel like I knew the guy from so many thousands of miles away...and bittersweet at the same time as I look at the elk carving on the wall above as i write this....which I won in last years St Judes...an item donated by Chris.
Thanks people for showing me that amidst what is an often strange and unfair world , even amidst tragedy people can shine and that some stars shine all the brighter for their passing.
Again my thoughts are with Larry and Family
God Bless one and all...
Hat's off to you terry, thank you M.Surtees,God bless your family.
Larry, from one Marine to another I will always have your back. From one father to another I share your pain. I pray for you and your family. I wish you and your family all the best and God bless. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.
I think the Marines guarding the gates of heaven made room for a Ranger.
Thank you Terry for all of your labor and for organizing the events on behalf of the Surtees family. May God bless you, the Surtees family, and everyone involved.
Thank you, Terry. And continued prayers for the Surtees family.
Thats why we are an elite family. We come together in times of need. Thanks gang, and thank you Terry.
This is quite a stand up bunch of guys and gals! Glad to be a part of such a big family. Thanks' Terry! Jason
A website like this ends up being a reflection of the the person (or people) who run the site, much like a child ends up being a reflection of the their parents. The dedication and energy it takes to to keep a group of people civil in a faceless society is huge, but your energies have resulted in an incredible community. Thank you for the energy you and the other administrators have taken to make this an incredible place to spend time.
What maineac said X10 ! Thought about Larry and Family while in the stand yesterday..... thinking about how hard it will be in the coming days and months without Chris. We will continue to lift the Surtees family up in prayer. Even though we may not be there physically we are still praying for this family.....
Thanks to all and continued prayer for the Surtees family.
Ya'll I have met Terry several times and thanked him personally for what he has done and is doing for all of us. He has always looked genuinely surprised at my words and maybe a little shy. Like many of you have said, he leads by example and is a real stand-up guy. Thank you for honoring Chris and all of us as you have done Terry. Well Done and God bless all of Chris' family and yours as well.
Thank you, Terry and God Bless evryone.
May the Great Spirit watch over and guide all of the TradGang, espically the Surtees Family, at this time of the birth of HIS SON!
Johnny/JAG

Thats what family does . :campfire:
Larry,
Without your courage to come here and share, it would have all lacked that total "inclusion" thing that you offered us and made us feel so much a part of Chris' memory as we did his daily offerings here.
May the Peace that passess all understanding wrap all of you in His loving arms and keep you in His Mercy through these coming hours, days, and months.
We will all share a campfire in another time and place.
Peace-Shalom.
