Not the worlds biggest bear but he was my first and I'm very proud of him. They sure do look big when you let an arrow go at 8 feet :)

Too heavy for you, Larry, thank goodness!
That is a Chimera XTL, 46# @ 26.5", and it has become my favorite bow. It is made of Asian striped ebony and Gabon ebony, and is 58" long.
I took it and my koa Carbon Elite up to camp with me, and tried them side by side. Carried the Chimera, as it shot more quietly and was a bit more forgiving than the koa bow.
This is a glass Centaur that I used to have.

Killdeer
Killy,
Can you tell any different with the XLT lam's as for shooting characteristic's? Smoother, quietness, any speed gains?
I don't own an original Chimera, so I can't compare. I just know that the XTL, with two lams of carbon and a lam of wood over the belly carbon, is quieter than the Carbon Elite. I see no loss of speed, but have not chronographed them.
Triple Carbon? Jim innovates a lot faster than the waiting list and my bank account can keep up!

Good looking bow Newell! Mine is not coming until June. Still trying to figure out the specs that I want. I like short bows but have a 29-29 1/2" draw length.
id go with the 62. i have a 60 inch and a 62 inch centaur and i draw 28 inches. i like the 62 a whole lot better! i think you would too at you draw length! id feel comfortable in a blind with the 62 and i hunted out of a tree stand with it all year and havent had any problems. the 60 inch shoots great and pulls smooth but its easier to be more accurate with a longer bow.
ditto on what newell said. I draw 29 and the 62" shoot a ton better for me!

Newell and Robinhood, thanks for your replies. I was debating between the 60" and 58" for hunting out of tree stands. I think I may rule out the 58" though. I have a 62" Black Widow LAO and a 64" A & H and was looking for something a little shorter, but don't want to sacrifice accuracy. I have a couple of shorter recurves that I shoot pretty well.
Does anyone know if the new concaved heads from Centaur Archery can be sharpened with the KME system?
Thanks,
Doug
I've got a 56 incher....what kind of brace height are you guys running with on these?
DTD,
I draw 29" and shoot a 60" Centaur. I think 58" would be too short as well. I had a 62" glass bow, and it shot very nice. But the 60" works fine for me. No stacking or any of that nonsense.
Ray, I have my 60" set at 6 7/8" to the inside of the grip. They seem to like it best there, for me.
Thanks MRD!
58" Chimera 46@28 drawn to 30". Shoot it very well as long as I concentrate on what I want to hit. Release and form has to be right on. At my draw my best shooter is a 60" glass bow but the 62"s are SMOOTH.
Ray, I have mine at about 7 1/8".
Killdeer
Is it a 56" killie?
Ray my shortest Centaur, 58" likes 6 7/8 based on how Jim recommends measuring brace.
