After learning of Rose Oak Creations from Trad Gang's "Jeremy" I began talking to and then ordered a Super Wildcat from Brandon Stahl at Rose Oak Creations. I ordered the bow in the spring and it arrived the first week of December.
This is my second 1-piece bow. I like the SW because it is, as Brandon admits very much like the Bear Super K, although sooped up quite a bit.
The bow is: LH, 60", marked 52# @ 28" but 47.8# at my 26", Cocobolo and Bocote riser with bocote limb veneers. I don't know that the yellow accent stripe is (Amarillo?).
Brandon fitted the string with his yarn ball silencers. They quiet the bow quite well but I'll probably change them to Cat Whiskers.
I like the bow because it is striking in terms of wood grain -- the Bocote is extremely animated! The cocobolo has nice grain and lots of differences in shades throughout the riser. For a 1-piece bow the bow is heftier than I expected which I like a lot.

That is just beautiful......shelf is on the wrong side but beautiful!!
WOW...
I don't know if I could shoot something that beautiful....well, I guess I could. Brandon does great work.
Good looking bow, let us know how it shoots.
Big wow! That is one extremely pretty bow. I hope we get a report on how it shoots...soon!
sweet,sweet,sweet!
Went down to the basement range -- too cold and windy outside. My shot down here is only 13 yards. I shot 5 warm-up arrows -- four looked like the picture below but the first one was about 4" high. I shot the 2nd group you see below. I have several bows that shoot like this. The bow is quiet, well-balanced, it seems fast (I have no chrony), and it fits me well.
I wonder how this bow would feel with a checkered grip. The blacktail and silvertips have caused me to really like the feel of a checkered grip.
It appears the bow likes my Beman MFX Classics: spine 600, 28", 75 grain brass insert and 100 grain field tip. 3, 4" feathers. My brace height is 7.5" (Brandon pre-twisted my string to this measure). The nocking point (top one) is 1/2" above horizontal.

Lovely. The long recurves in Mr. Stahls lineup are already exemplary, but that one is super even for that outfit.
Brandon's bows are works of art - and they shoot great too. Couldn't be happier with my Super Wildcat.
Craig
By the way, the deer under my group is life size for .... I wouldn't DARE name the state! :D
beautiful !
one of those is on my list ... I'm a longbow guy but 1 piece recurves like Brandon's are an itch i gotta scratch .
Congrats on your new bow!
Roy,this is a stunning bow,I couldn't expect nothing less knowing Brandon's work and Craig's SW.
I really love those Bocote veneers, but also the Cocobolo in the riser.
Very nice bow congratulations
i am ready to buy it when you are ready to sell it. beutiful bow, congrats
Beautiful!
Brandon is top notch all around and the SW sure are lookers AND shooters!
Very tempting......
Nice!
Sending my deposit in for a Super Wildcat. Already have one of Brandon's early King Panthers with pierce points (he doesn't do them anymore). Going to get my Super Wildcat built to look real close to an original 68/69 Super Kodiak.
See what good things retirement from government employment can bring... LOL
Super looking bow. Now go forth "young man" and get some meat.
Congrats on a great bow....
Thanks Bruce. Irony is I couldn't afford these custom bows before I retired -- kids in college, buying service...you know the drill.
Whoops...wife saw my post...she says I still can't!
Stunning Brandon builds a grat bow.
Was Brandon having a bad day when he put the shelf on the wrong side?? :saywhat:
Beautiful bow! I've been drooling on those recently. I love shooting my Super K, and getting one on steroids with gorgeous woods like that? Wow - that might just be the ultimate bow!
Great looking bow. It does remind me of a Bear Super Kodiak.
Just wondered, the bow thats on the ground in the background of the second pic...
Did ya just throw that one away? If ya want rid of it I'll drive over and pick it up if its still layin in the yard... LOL
That wife thing is called WLOS... Wife looking over shoulder... Gottra watch that one... LOL
I ain't buyin any credit points... I got em all already. Heck, I am the oldest faculty member on campus. I walk graduation in front of the Ph. D's behind the Pres.
I wondered if anyone would see the one on the ground. I didn't realize it was in the picture until back at the computer.
Brandon wanted me to take some pictures of the new Bear TD limbs he sent me on a Supreme riser. I was also taking those pictures. I'll put those in another thread.
Good eye Bruce!
Nice bow! Thanks for posting...
Good looker Roy.
That's a beautiful bow Roy. I love the wood combo.
Looks like you have it dialed in too.
Congrats
Thanks guys.
I know how much I like to look at your new bows.
I still don't have this picture taking/posting down great though. It took me about two hours to get the pictures, change the resolution, and jockey back and forth between Photo Bucket and Trad Gang (after deleting the whole post once) to get it done!
Of course I have to stand on stuff to get those full bow shots on the floor and without a net too!
I love that bow. Man I wish I could get a consistant group like that!....Phil
The last thought in my head before I excute the release is "paint the face and thumb to the shoulder". Aiming was completed two steps ago.
A year or so back, I shot one of Brandon's King Panthers and was immediately shooting well at 15 yards on his range. Brandon is very knowledgable and makes an incredible bow. His customer service is great also!
Sharp!
What limb core did you get? I've still got a four month wait for mine and still undecided about getting maple or bamboo.
Cores are bamboo. The accent stripe is "yellow heart" also known as satinwood. Brandon used this instead of osage because the osage browns over time.
Brandon is making some great looking bows!!!
That is sweet. I first saw Brandons bows at Cloverdale maybe 5 or 6 years ago. I keep seeing pics of his bows and the itch continues to get worse.......
I am a sucker for cocobolo and bocote. Beautiful. Looks like a shooter.
A beautiful bow for sure.
Good looking bow
Congrats
Margly
Beautiful bow and looks like it likes you.
Another, Rose Oaks Beauty! Enjoy.
Wow.Nice one.
WOW!..............KY
Sw..eet looking bow!
Hey their buckster! Early next week you'll have a couple to take pictures of!
That is a great looking bow...I never feel compelled to write that.
