I was out yesterday evening walking around searching for deer. I was moving along the top of a ridge through some big rocks, when I stumbled upon a NICE trail that showed where they jumped the fence onto our property line. On the rocks by the trail I found this:

On the small plaque it had this scripture:

It slowed me down and make me enjoy the rest of the hunt despite I saw no deer. After I got home I asked my dad if he knew about it, he said no, but that he knew the previous owner's husband had died and she spread his ashed somewhere on the property. Well I had found it, and now I plan on hunting there in honor of him I guess you'd say. It really is a beautiful spot. I'll get some more pictures later.
Good story. Thank you for sharing.
Pretty cool story, You'll remember it for a lifetime.

I venture to say you didn't stumble upon it but were led there. Nice find and good hunting.

I was actually pretty frustrated from lack of deer activity. Then I found that and the verse hit home with me. There is a time and place for everything.

There is a spot in quiet little section of woods near a creek I visit with a rock like that. My good friend Dick Stevens rests as ashes there.
He was a longtime hunter and gunshop owner who ended up with emphazema and I used to stop in in his latter years to tell him what I was seeing when I hunted his land (or anywhere nearby).
You may not have seen any deer but it looks to me you had very a successful hunt.
Very cool, Thanks for sharing.
That's great!! todd
I'm with Jeremy I don't think you stumbled upon the trail or found that by accident.

That is my personal favorite Scripture. Thanks for sharing!
I hunt on the Tombigbee River, a place I shared with a great friend for years. He's gone now, but I still go to one of the last spots we hunted together, and have some peaceful time visiting with him.
As said before, you were led there!
Good Hunting, and may the Great Spirit watch over and guide your endevors!

The man's name was John Wright. I think he was a hunter and fisherman, but I'm not sure.
