Hey alL,
With all the talk lately about Hill Bows and a few pics here and there, I thought its HIGH TIME for a good Howard Hill Bow PICS thread. Does anyone ever tire of seeing pics of great looking bows and gear? I know I don't, especially when they are of Hill style bows.
I know there are other bowyers out there that make Hill STYLE bows that are awesome as well. Here at Christmas time, lets not be exclusionary in our zeal. Come one, Come ALL. Lets see 'em ALL! The only thing is that you should ID the bows that aren't Hill bows so we can know where to go and get more info when we see the pic.
I wish I had a Hill so I could kick off the thread. Next year I will.
Lets see 'em guys.
Nalajr
We did this one some time ago.

Robtattoo, Does that come with a leather wrapped handle and is fastflite compatible?
I probably shouldn't have asked for this thread cause I know it's going to make me want one even more. I have wanted a Hill and a Bear TD for MANY years now. I don't know why I have never seriously tried to get one.
I would really like to try one before I bought one. Finding TRAD outlets here in SouthWest Florida isn't easy. I think there is one get together in and around Ocala, but I haven't been to it yet.
Keep 'em coming....I'll just have to deal with the pain.

My Norhern Mist Shelton string follow, my Hill style favorite.

Beauties......
Hey all. I wanted to ask about these bows and hopefully get some pics and thoughts on them.
I have read that BamaBows makes a great Hill style bow. Anyone? Also Mohawk is mentioned as a great Hill Style.
Nalajr
Hey Dick any chance you want to adopt me and put me in the will for those Hill's. :goldtooth:
I'll post my Bama in just a sec..Im downloading some pics of the tips and unstrung profile as I type. They are great bows at a great price.
lpcjon2.... sorry, man, but they are long gone. I took that picture of my collection for a Hill calendar I put out a few years back. It was totally awesome! That was the cover, and each month was a full color of one bow. It was a free download to the Hill Longbowmen.
The bow collection was sold when I decided to equip a bow shop and build. All the money is in the bank account of Grizzly Tools. :^)
Here's my Tembo.

those are beautiful bows...
I got my first by hauling fireplace rocks for a guy one summer. He paid me with a custom made Hill Big Five.
77 @ 28" and 70". John Shulz was the bowyer at the time.
This pic is a representative of the squirrels we shot that day. I shot 102 and my buddy with the compound shot 120.

I got after a lot of different small game with that Big Five.
Looking over at my bow rack I can see that same Big Five, a Shulz Trophy Hunter, a Duke Savora longbow and four or five of my own make.

Foxbo you sure have a beauty there! I've admired "Good as Gold" ever since I saw it in a pic that Nate sent me. Congrats on a fabulous work of art!

I posted this photo on Roger's bunny hunt thread. My Sunset Hill named "Destiny" sitting atop one of Nate's fabulous quivers.

I'd like to attend an all Hill and Hill style bow shoot someday. Nothing against other bow types but, to me that kind of shoot would be a blast to see the different models and wood variations. :D
Wannabe1 ...X2 in other words... me too!..me too!!!
Just pick me up on your way to Alabama or Michigan..lol
God bless,Mudd
Roy, I'd definitely enjoy the company! I think that kind of shoot would be one to remember.
I don't currently own a "Hill-Hill" bow but have a Martin ML-14, a Big River, and just got a new BamaBow yesterday. Will post pics soonest.
Thanks for the compliment on "Good as Gold" Spanky, but all the credit goes to the ole handsome master himself, Nate! :)
Mr. LaClair
Thanks for the History. Wonderful pictures and a testament of the effectiveness of the HH Longbow.
