Here's some "plain stained" instead of crown dipping. I kind of like the results doing it this way. Especially when you end taper your shafts.
sorry for the poor quality picture....

Hey Snag... there is a guy on Pow Wow looking for a pic of those "cream color" cap dip arrows you did. Check out "Arrows that I can't find" thread
I've been using a lighter stain instead of caps too. I like how they turn out.

I tried my hand at splicing. You guys that do it sure have my respect, it took me forever to get these 6 made up.

Beautiful work..... can't imagine a thread 'show us your aluminums'
Hey man I do beautiful aluminums!

I knew as soon as I hit the send button I was in trouble :-)
All I meant was wood nostalgically beautiful (if that's a word)
Most guys' aluminums could use some dressing up, especially after the pains some go through to tune them. Alas the guys who do the best embellishment are also the guys most drawn to wood arrows. I also make lots of woodies but I've given my best sets away and don't have much to show. Until I finish my current set that is.
Here are a few I made a while back. Time to get started on some new one's. (http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll292/toxo-collector/archery024.jpg) (http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll292/toxo-collector/archery023.jpg)
I'm gonna have to start cresting all my arrows from now on....Phil
What feather shape is this? T-hawk?
Good looking arrows.
