where do you get it?  I looked a couple places and didn't find it. Can I use the kid's white sidewalk chalk?

yes you can use regular chalk.it just keeps your file from building up shavings in the grooves.it does help also to get a file card to clean out the grooves.hope this helps, steve

Go to any welding supply store, and ask for soap stone, works great, it's cheap.

Or a shop like REI or EMS.
Rock climbers use it to stop our hands from sweating, gymnasts too.
You can get a 5oz bag for like 3 bucks.

Is soap stone less of a mess than chalk?
