Title: FEATHER GRINDING
Post by: RAU on December 16, 2010, 08:18:00 PM
I just wanted to pass on the word about some awsome service i received from one of our members. I just received 75 of the most beautifully ground and chopped fletching you ever saw from stringstretcher. Ive been saving turkey wings for a while and shipped him a box of them. I got back a pile of beautifull fletching from turkeys i killed that are better than anything I could have bought AND THEIR MY FEATHERS!! Ive  built a clamp and tried grinding them with a hand held belt sander clamped vertical on my workbench my self but my results were poor at best. THESE ARE PERFECT!!! GREAT SERVICE!!!

i just want to say that i just got 36 feathers from string stretcher.they are top notch.i fleched up a few and went out to my target.the first one i shot missed the mark and went through the tough plastic that surrounds my foam.the arrow went strait through and into the dirt beyond.i went and got the arrow knowing the feather would be destroyed.to my suprise, the fleching was perfect.this would have never been ok with my tru-flights.stringstretchers flechings are very tough and i would recommend them to everyone.i am very pleased.maybe if my shooting gets better,i won't have to worry about it LOL.until then i will be shooting his feathers.thanks stringstrecher, steve

Now Steve.  I never said all my feathers hit the target....lol(not saying how I know that).  But glad you like them.  Now start getting all you can from any source available.  Everybody has a turkey/goose hunting buddie or three...lol

Stringstretcher,
Do you sell turkey feathers or does a guy have to send their personal feathers to you?  I hate to ask, but we don't have many long beards up here.

Stingstretcher can cut and grind feathers better than factory, I wish I'd have sent him my last batch instead of trying to do it myself, I really appreciate the time you put into them Charlie.
Thanks and Merry Christmas   :coffee:

Stringstretcher:

Sending you about 120 LW feathers today.  Keep any secondary feathers that might be mixed into the batch.  Keep what you need for your costs and send me the remaining.  Please make them 4" shield cut.

I will send you a PM

Sent 57 RW and 50 LW primaries today as well. Secondaries are yours to keep. Please keep what you need to cover costs out of the primaries too. We will chop our own 5" shields once we get them back as our father / son project on cane arrows. Thanks stringstretcher ! We plan on using these fletchings / arrows out of our osage selfbows only.
