Title: Hats off to Eldon
Post by: RC on December 16, 2010, 10:58:00 AM
I was looking through Eldons Jandreau`s bear/moose hunting site and while looking through the pics I saw a couple kids with Bears. Then read where the kid gets to hunt for free if the parent buys a hunt. OUTSTANDING!! Efforts like this will help keep Kids in the woods. If I ever line up enough ducks to go bear hunting Eldons place is where I`ll be headed.RC

:clapper:  Dont have kids to bring but I would hunt there to have some youthfullness in camp and to give business to soemone who unsderstands our future and promotes kids in the woods.

Right on, Robert. My wife does his website and we just got an unsolicited endorsement from one of his previous clients. In his comments he states that even if another guide service would offer  him a free hunt he would opt out and pay Eldon to  hunt because of the quality and time Eldon and his crew put into their hunts. That says a lot about the man and his service.

Eldon and his guides are top notch.  Nobody could work harder for his clients than he does, and he takes your success very personally.  He really wants his hunters to do well. I will do my bear hunting with him every time I can--already been five times and had great experiences every time.

In Ontario we have a hunter apprenticeship programme and I know of a few outfitters that offer free hunts to kids with their parents. It's great thing to do and helps build our sport in so many ways.

I have a hunt scheduled for this coming sept for myself and my 15 year old daughter. It will be first for both of us and the cool thing is she is the one that pushed the issue.

Now if I could just get her to shoot a stick and string I would have it licked but if all she ever hunts with is a gun at least she'll still be hunting with Ol' Dad.

looking forward to it for sure.

Hey, Don, you sure know about both!  That was a great moose you took with Eldon.  I not only enjoyed your story in TBM but also enjoyed hearing Eldon tell about it when I was there back in September.

Thanks Dave. I know you've got some great bear stories/trophies of your own!  Sure hope we meet again up at Eldon's in Maine one of these years!

I've hunted fall bear with Eldon & Co. every year since 2000 and moose in Sept.'09.And this despite having my own bait site at home in N.H.! Something about the great north woods experience, the local people, and professional guides that keeps me coming back.
