Chuck at Two Tracks makes a 50" Ambush bow. I have one and it's an awesome little bow. I draw 26", but I know guys are drawing them at, and over 28" with no problem. She is smooth, quiet, and really packs a punch.

If your draw is 28", not 29", try a Rodney Wright Stalker.  It's 46" long and is fine out to 28".  Then it hits a wall  :banghead:  .  No stackin'.

I've got one 62# @ 28".  My draw is 28" with no problem.  I've had this bow for about 5 years now.  Don't plan on ever gettin' rid of it.  Fun bow to shoot.  Good luck.  :archer2:

Can't recommend one without trying first but in a year or so I'll be looking for a Sheepeater at a bargain.Let us know what you find and how you like it.I've been in a bind in my tree stand on a few hunts where a short bow may have helped.

My Black Mountain Sheepeater is my favorite!
I draw a true 29" and with this 50" bow there is no stacking or finger pinch. Definetly worth checking out.

Keeping the Faith!
Magnus

Check out RER bows (a sponser here).  He makes static recurves which work well with short bows.

If you can't afford a custom bow, check out some of the old Bear Grizzly or Kodiak magnums. Short, quick, quiet, and my Grizzly is about 56" when strung and I'm about a 27" draw. It's made for a 28" draw and I can pull it back at least that far with no problems, but I'm just more comfortable somewhere between 26" and 27". I shoot 2 under so I probably don't notice any finger pinch like some who shoot 1 over 2 under would.
I believe the Kodiak magnum is even shorter tip to tip and was considered a "Bush Bow" by some of the older generations. I wish I had one.

Timberhawk makes a great short bow and only costs about $550 new.

Dave Beeler makes a short recurve and not as costly as some others. I'm not a recurve shooter so I can't say how well it shoots, but owning one of Dave's longbows makes me think that his recurve will shoot just as good.

Yes, it IS Dave Beeler!    :knothead:       "[dntthnk]"   I am such a knuckle head! I work with a guy named Bob Beeler and I always seem to get the two names confused! Thanks for the correction. I will edit my original post.

After shooting my wife's NAT from Lost Creek I would have to say it is the best short recurve I have have ever shot, even though it is not a recurve.  Although if one is looking more for the shape of the limb it does not qualify for what you are looking for.  As for handling and overall performance and accuracy, it beats my 52" 52 lb.Pearson, which I draw to 27".

I have a Shrew Lil' Favorite I bought here on TradGang and love it!  You'll find Shrews on sale here every now and again.  You can avoid the wait by networking on here, if that is discouraging you.  Lots of good suggestions above as well!

Good Luck!

Kris

I have a 52 inch Cascade Golden Hawk and love it.  All of my friends, up to 30+ inch draw length, love it and are in the process of saving up to buy one.  They said they experienced no finger pinch or stacking.  I have a short draw length so it is much less of an issue for me.

I would agree also with the  Cascade 52" it is the best short bow I have shot.  And the wait is usually short. A second would be to get a KT44 if you really want a short bow.

I suggest you consider Dan Toelke's 52" recurve. I have shot a couple of them. I have a 29" draw and can tell you there is nothing not to like about these little bows. There is absolutely no stacking, no unpleasant finger pinch, they are VERY quick and with B50, like all Dan's bows they are QUIET! There are 2 or 3 on his website  www.montanabows.com, (http://www.montanabows.com,)  first click "current inventory" then "traditional recurves" to see them.
