Killed a ten inch cedar tree!
Yep. Hands down the biggest doe I have ever laid eyes on.. Coming in with two trailing her and stops where I had walkied into my stand and starts sniffing th ground.. Not alarmed, but stops right behnd a cedar tree. I draw expecting her to walk on. She doesn't and I know she is gonna see me let down, so if I'm gettin busted lettin down might as well get busted shootin between two trees. It's a kill or miss shot.
I let go and miss the gap by 3/4 in burying my broadhead in the edge of a ten inch cedar.
No animals were harmed in the production of this hunt.
And ceder tastes bad :biglaugh:
Did you get some good penetration on that cedar Robert?
Keep the wind in your face!
Shoot straight, Shinken

Haven't killed a tree I liked yet :biglaugh:
A friend of mine killed one last season.
He said he was shooting at a small buck so I asked him why I was trying to pull out his broadhead which was at least as high up in the tree as my shoulder...lol
He admitted that it was a very tall deer...lol
The tree refused to give up his broadhead so it remains as a reminder to pick a spot and preferably on the deer.
God bless,Mudd
Mudd..I am taking a screwdriver back with me. Hopefully I can get my brand new Magnus back!
By the way...very good penetration. Dang! 3/4 OF AN INCH AND SUMMMER SAUSAGE!

It does smell nice though.
While missing a fox squirrel a few weeks ago,I embedded a Delta Zwickey into the very base of a 100+ yr.old white oak. I hope I haven't hastened the demise of that stately old tree....Phil
your arrow Just wanted to go home in Cedarville...Right where it belongs...
I think you have same problem we face around here,Magnetic trees!
I blew the same "through the fork" shot a while back. My broad head is still in that tree 20 years later.
Thats all one can do is laugh about it and share with others.
I think I could of built a log cabin in my life the trees that I have harvested over the years.
Earl
Robert, good story, you should have cut the cedar tree, and aged it for Veneers on a new bow..
Use vice grips on the head just tight enough so you can jiggle it to pull if out.
Keeping the Faith!
Magnus
They make a great mount!!
I practice that shot all the time, luckily judo's come out much easier :goldtooth:
Bet you won't forget that one any time soon.
I have too and I still do at least once a year it seems like. I dont even bother trying to dig them out anymore as it usually still bends them up....look at it as a sacrifice to the arrow gods....gets a bit pricey with abowyer whitetails.
Haven't bagged a cedar yet,got a crabapple,a black oak,and a maple but no cedar,maybe next year.LOL :archer:
Lol it happens. Way to try to make the shot though. You can't kill 'em if you never drop the string. :D
