Holy S!!!s?:###
thats some pretty cool pics, you dont see many trail cam pics of brown,or grizzly bear!
WOW...thats one helluva Grizz.... :scared:
my gosh!! shoot him and all your gonna do is pi$$ him off
Wow!!! That is scary!
I don't see a hump at the shoulders, Looks like a colored blacky to Me..
What bout his claws? Is there something up with his back foot in the walk away pic?
Looks like he ate a colored blacky to me.
Wow,now thats a bear picture.Surprised he didnt find the cam and eat it.Thanks for sharing those, really neat.,
I think a woodsman would do the trick but I'm not going to be the guy dropping the string....
Shoot the Blackie and leave his carcass for bait! Grizz love to eat blackies. I have always been told that you don't see many black bears where the Grizz roam. Maybe the Grizz is checking on new teritory.
BigJim Broadhead tight to the crease and just below center is great bear medicine! black or brown.

:biglaugh:  You're kidding, right?
If things go wrong there, it'll make your eyes water....
By the way is that a 55 or 44 galon barrel at the tree?
X2 for ishootforthrills - if you don't see Griz you may need glasses?
Knowing that's in the wood's with you would definitely make the walk in and out more interesting !! :scared:  :scared:
Froggy
I've choked on 100 lb. deer. Can't imagine flinging a puney arrow at that monster. I know my limits....Phil
That is truly an incredible animal.
Wow....just leave the trail cam there....RUUUUUN!!!!
note to self "do not hunt bear's with Bell007's friend from Alaska"
doug77
I would have hated checking that camera in the woods and hearing a stick crack behind me.........
Makes me think Of Fred Bear on Kodiak Island or somewhere on the Valiant Maid. Sure a magnificent beast.
Can you say DREAM HUNT. Thank you for sharing the Picts.
Keeping the Faith!
Magnus
"Are you sure you can skin Grizz?"
What an awesome bear.
It's seems it need a little help, who's willing to scratch his back!!!Nice pics.
WoW....even the Blackie was a nice one......CooL!
Imagine sitting in a ground blind waiting for daylight, hearing a stick pop and seeing him when daylight came.
I would not walk around those woods without a ROCKETLAUNCHER. :scared: :scared: :scared:

You are making a "funny" with that one.
That is a big Grizz.....He chewed the front leg off the black bear in the 1st pic LOL.
Very cool!
Holy Mercy!!! Hunt him from a shark cage blind!
Wonder how big the second grizz was in the second pic.
That's one big "Grizz" for sure makes that 55 gal. drum look like a pop can!
WOW! That is a big GRIZZ!!
Ahh thats the spot!
That's a good sized brown bear. Where I used to moose hunt in Southeast Alaska, there is a healthy population of both black and brown bears. The blacks would take off when a brown bear was around, but I have watched them feed on salmon out of the same stream, within 50 yards of each other.
That's probably a 55 gallon drum. Most folks don't have a clue how big a large male brown bear can get. I have witnessed one pick up a freshly shot Roosevelt elk bull and walk off with it like it was a fox with a rabbit.
I've also been within a few yards of one that big on Admiralty Island. I was deer hunting and had my .280 Remington with me. The guy I was with literally messed on himself. After that encounter, I started deer hunting with a .375 H&H.
Magnificent creatures.
One big grizzly bear.Blowed pic up blackie appears to missing part of his front leg.
Wow he's a biggon
I take it you guys don't walk to your stands in the dark do you? Wow what a critter!
Love it!
If that's a 55 gal barrel, it should be about 33-34 inches tall. Assuming it's not sitting in a hole that would make the bear about eight, eight and a half feet tall in the picture where he's all stretched out.
Ain't No Freaking Way! Nope, not now not ever will I go bear hunting......and that's why right there! Jiminy Christmas that's One Huge Beast! :scared:
I'm from Missouri and if I Ever saw an animal like that coming toward me while I was out hunting, I'd be curled up in the fetal position whimpering like a little girl :help: :( ......Wow that gives me cold chills just looking at the pic!
I guess you all up North and out West are just used to that kind of thing since you grew up there Huh?
How do you even relax enough to hunt just knowing that animals like that are out there?
I'd be as nervous as a cat the whole time and be eating Rolaids by the handfuls just to keep my stomach from knotting up.
The biggest animal I have to contend with where I hunt is a cow, and they run from me!
Since I don't eat bear I don't figure I'd hunt it, but knowing there're still areas we can go where an animal like that lives sure does make my day! Man, what a beast! Thanks for the pics,
Eddie Paulsgrove
That is MR. GRIZ for sure. Alaskan browns are monsters. Makes our black bears look like woodchucks.
Ol' Dan Quillian shot one that squared 8 1/2 feet at 15 yards. At the time, he had an open wound on the bottom of one of his feet that wouldn't heal due to diabetes and hospital staff infection. He couldn't have run if he had to. It didn't see him, so he lived to hunt another day.
Not me, brother! A man who shoots one of those beasts at close range with an arrow, even with a gun for backup, is a BRAVE soul.
Is the black bear in the first picture a Three legged bear?
Lovely,it looks you need some #s to put it down.
I dont want to see that thing from my treestand.
"MR. GRIZ" posted by centaur is the best description of him I have heard yet.
How cool is that! when in there you no very well that you could be on the opposite end of the predator/prey episode we all live for.
J
make it count.... otherwise, it's been nice knowin' you......
Did anyone notice that that bear is not alone?
:scared: :scared: :scared:
dang! he could $#!? in that barrel, he's a goodun !
You should post a pic of yourself with your back against the tree like the bear just so people can see how big he is compaired to us measley humans.
Wow hes huge, thanks for shareing the pics.
Here is one I had on my bait this year. The yellow chain that is wrapped around the tree is approximately 6 feet off the ground.

Here he is sitting down palming a 16 gallon keg

CRAP, :scared: I'd give my right n-t and my Left leg to have a chance at that BEAST from a 10 foot platform. What a rush that would be!! And if things went wrong wouldn't need them anyway. Thanks for sharing. Bears turn me on! Not as much as a good bow or my wife. But close.
I'm plenty dumb enough to hunt one of those monsters, but I lack the cash to do it. They are just absolutely the most awesome animal in North America. If I would ever win the lottery.......

I will second that.
Kodiak bear have always been my "DREAM" hunt forever. Never could afford the hunt until now but the bad part is I can no longer shoot the bow weight necessary to kill one of these awesome creatures so it still is a dream!
Those are some awesome pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us.

Reckon I will third it !!
Randy,
A transfer to Elmendorf or Eielson would get you resident status and a bunch cheaper hunt!
Nice pics and info
I have a picture with Fred Bear, his mounted world record brownie taken in the early 60's, and myself. What a bear? What a thrill to see your pictures. If that won't get your blood boiling, nothing will. Thanks for sharing.
