We're on a 3 week break from bow season here in Iowa. Once they open the shotgun season, they close down the bow season. It opens back up on Dec. 20th until Jan 10th.
I personally love hunting in the white powder. It keeps things quiets and sure shows the deer movement. I might pick up a snow cover for my blind and tuck it back under the pine tree I've been hunting in.
I'm just hoping the ground I've been hunting (public) doesn't get pushed too hard during the next 3 weekends. Even so, the deer will still be hitting the food sources.
I'm yet to have a shot this year, so hoping my chance is still in the works.
How are you (or do you) cope with the mid season break?
As far as the snow-LOVEIT. I wear a tyvec( get them at HD) suit over my clothes for the snow(blends in so nice and repels the water). and after the gun guys stop I found most of the deer are way back in the woods in places gunners don't go.So I make it a point for the first week back to hit places like that hard. And then get back to my normal swampy stands.
ive got one of those tyvek suits cant wait to try it,its gotta cut the wind real good,
