Title: Kwikstyk Questions
Post by: Dave Pagel on December 03, 2010, 05:28:00 PM
I haven't been able to reach Jack yet, but I am certain someone here will know.

Are all the Kwikstyks static tip or do you have to ask for them?  Is the pistol grip like a medium wrist recurve grip?

Any pictures would be great.

Dave

You have to order  the Static limb tip Dave...your choice of regular or static. Jack right now is a hard man to reach...with his one year wait time and all the orders he has...HE IS BUILDING BOWS!

PM me back if you have any questions....Joe

Dave,

Best thing you could do is contact Joe and order through him.

Jack is most certainly one of the best around and a pleasure to talk to but like Joe said he busy building bows.

IMO static tips are the way to go...smooth, fast, and over all a very forgiving bow.

As for grip his standard is more like a low grip but really fits the hand well. He can pretty much make any grip you want as long as he knows what you want. Just through emails he hit my grip on the first try...the only is I put a Posi Grip on and it made the grip a little too big for me so Jack will be getting it to thin a little and then match it for the 52" and 56" bow I have on order.

I am a big KS fan and now compare all the bows I shoot to it...needless to say I am down to one Kwyk Styk, a Charlie Lamb recurve, and a bowfishing rig.

Best of luck to ya on your order.

I am on the list, but had a couple of questions to resolve.  I will get Jack eventually.

Dave,

Jack will contact you prior to starting your bow to confirm the order is still good.

I am blessed. I have a Kwyk Styk that has the perfect grip for me. I just lucked into it and can't describe it. I have two sets of static tip limbs. One set of 47# at 28" and the other is 74# at 28". The 47# shoots like 55#, on any other performance bow, and the 74# makes my wood arrows catch on fire.

More importantly the cast is ultra flat for 25 yards. There is zero noise. Due to the static tips, opening up, I feel I get a little let off at full draw.

Just an amazing bow.

Matt

Jack will be hard at 'er again now that the general hunting season is over. We still have two days in the county but I'm sure he won't get out. He's more of a weekend guy. I may have a Kwik Styk for sale soon as I'm on his list for another.
